I've been meaning to create an account here for a while. If I had to summarize things about me, I guess they'd include "serial entrepreneur", "early engineer on the Internet", "investor", and "startup mentor."

My hobbies tend to be things that I hope would be marketable skills in the event of the Inevitable Breakdown(tm), like flying airplanes, building radios, and perfumery.

I'm fiercely capitalistic, but I readily admit to have spent some time helping government folks to try new ways of doing things with private sector companies. My hope was largely that they'd get out of the way, but the fact is that sometimes they helped move things along, and it turned out pretty well. I still have a little cognitive dissonance about that, but I'm an empiricist at heart.
