Must read. This is happening in my community. Take a look at the anti Ayn Rand quote by Adam Hill near the end. Absurd.

I think that letter show this guy for what he is, a certified nut-job, full of hate and venom, the lowest kind of snake-in-the-grass; a shining example of evil in government.
Also, I wish I was a parent of a child running a lemonade stand being harassed by some pencil-necked bureaucrat. I swear, by the time it was all over, I would own the whole damn town, lock, stock, and barrel. Then I would turn the town hall into a slushie stand; I might even be nice and hire the mayor back as a janitor.

  Usually, the mayor is an unpaid public servant and holds a full time job elsewhere.. Usually. However, mayors are not responsible for enforcement. City Managers are. So, if you are looking to hire someone as custodian for your slushie stand, look at the City Manager. (BTW, I retired from city management about 7 yrs ago.)

    In our little town of San Luis Obispo the city manager makes $350k annual. Her last employment as manager was in Beverly Hills believe it or not.
