Then why did she sign the contract?

So, she states she wasn't concerned with what she was paid but holds the studio at fault for not paying her more.

If my neighbor gets a better deal on a car than me, is that the car dealer's fault?

I declare war on the war on women!

I thought actors were offered for what they would bring to the film as well as for their fit or talent...If you sign a big name, then you automatically get their 'fans and friends' coming to your movie.

The proverbial death knell in the Movie Industry is, "...difficult to work with..." I think this actress (who I do not know) is likely to acquire that label.

Maybe she needs to read Trump's "The Art of the Deal" and learn how to negotiate.

Sheesh...Nobody forced her to 1) Read for the part, and 2) sign the contract.

Obama should read the "art of the deal" before he steps out of the country to negotiate with foreign nations. He is the worst president EVER

I am totally amazed. I saw a quote from Ren and Stimpy.

Ren said: "Stimpy sometimes your wealth of ignorance astounds me."

With Obama being the worse president ever beating out Jimmy Carter, it is clear to me Jimmy Carter was proud of his prior status is ns entering the scene again making statements that to me, seem to be directed at taking back his status as the stupidest and worse ever president.

Just like our public education system, a race to be the worse.

If a grocery store in your town charges $1.00 for a doz. eggs, and another charges $1.29 for a doz. should the consumer be chastised for choosing to buy the lower cost eggs?___ So why should a movie producer be chastised for choosing to use an actress that was willing to do the part for a lower amount of compensation?

I'm still trying to remember what part she played in Mama Mia? Since I have that movie I'll have to correct that before commenting. If it was the daughter she wasn't worth 5% of Meryl Streeps. There must have been a SAG system in effect...
I just took a pause to check. Best i can say is she isn't bankable star quality but then I haven't seen the other movies. I remember thinking at the time she might have been hired because of being someone's kid or maybe streeps daughter in real life.

The other comment is get a better agent and quit making excuses.

or taxpayers chastized for refusing to buy second rate GMC products? Being known as the triple dot girl must have some publicity value. Streep should have got ten times as much as the rest of the cast. She carried that movie.

    Beautiful eyes...I'm just sayin'...

“It’s not about how much you get, it’s about how fair it is.”....Um, no. It's about how much you get.

I don't have an issue with her complaining. This is just information. As long as she s=doesn't demand legislation.

I can't wait until Hollywood has to deal with the same hiring practices the rest of the businesses in the country do.
You are too fat to be our receptionist -vs- you are too fat to be the vixen in the next movie.
We need an Asian for this position in Korea-vs- You are white. We need an Asian for this part as a samuri.
Just amazing what Hollywood does, and then actors and actresses get up and talk a bout discrimination. If it weren't for discrimination or nepotism, every single person in Hollywood would be different.

people who chose to become actors to earn a living love the glory of being seen and some love to be heard. when you do hear what they have to say you understand why they became actors, so they can say what ever is in the script, they do not have to think because when ever they open their mouths you find out that don't think and what they say is my proof.

It reminds me of Robert Young from the old "Marcus Welby, MD" TV show. He made some commercials hawking Excedrin or some such, where he stands there in a white lab coat and a stethoscope around his neck and he says, "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV, and I think you should take this for your headache" (or whatever). Wait a minute...you're a TV actor and we should take medical advice from you? At least we knew he was merely an actor in a commercial, but when the likes of Alex Baldwin screams at people regarding who (or more specifically, who NOT to vote for), I question the sanity of our political process. You're an actor, and that makes your views on politics more insightful than mine, why?

Is it fair to assume that her agent negotiates her pay? If so, perhaps she could discuss the matter that makes her unhappy with her agent, and if appropriate, dismiss him or her.

Method acting. Their characters pull that kind of stunt, so they think they can get away with it in real life.

All joking aside: why indeed did she sign the contract? It's for her to get better advice than she got to begin with.

Fools like her give women a bad name. If she is too stupid to read the contact, tough stuff. I'm guessing they paid her what they thought she was worth. what's next, a law that requires a studio to tell their actors what the other actors are making?

What she's really asking is wage control. That way, she will be paid within a few percent of anyone else. Let's start with me as a standard wage - $1,000 / mo. ...

Who gives a rat's ass what she says?
She's an actress. She lies for a living, gets paid a fortune, and gets adulation by millions of teen age boys.
Put her remarks in the same category with those if ALL other professional liars.
And we are supposed to have sympathy?
And we are supposed to think she should be listened to as if she has some wisdom?
    Here is the truth:
"It's been a rough year for the actress, but at least she has her millions of dollars to ease the pain. 29-year-old Amanda Seyfried has taken the No. 1 spot on People With Money’s top 10 highest-paid actresses for 2015 with an estimated $46 million in combined earnings."

No one should care, but the problem is the uninformed, low-information voter hears this pap and believes that's there's actually a war on women.

For too long, we've mistakenly assumed that people will know this sort of thing is crap, but they don't. Who would have ever thought thinking humans could be made to believe that the climate only started to change with the industrial revolution or that criticizing the President is racist or that the GOP was waging a war on women?

We must nuke this sort of drivel the moment it's uttered.

Maybe her latest male co-star will point out the massive unfair discrepancy in her higher pay and how it is an obvious plot against men in films.
He would have to be half black and half latino for it to be picked up by the media though, and then it would be racist, not gender.

She should get whatever she can negotiate; "fair" is certainly not the appropriate word. Some women simply want govt. to force employers to pay the same as men. Perhaps they need to band together to request more or find an "equal opportunity" employer. Or perhaps the movie public is attracted more to the male actors and the women are not worth the same to the production co.s.
