Ayn Rand, Patriot

I don't see Ayn Rand mentioned as a patriot very often, but she was clearly an advocate for the American way of life. Having seen what happened to Russia, her warnings were about what can happen if we let the looters and moochers destroy a great country with even greater potential. She saw the USA as unique in the world as a place where true capitalism could grow and prosper.

So, on the birthday of our country, I wanted to take this time to say, "Thank You Ayn Rand, Patriot"!

I think I made a comment some days ago that the 16th (Income Tax) Amendment should be repealed.
I hope I didn't say 13th; I would NEVER have meant to say that, but I might have been thinking that 1913 was the YEAR the income tax was brought in, and typed the wrong number by mistake.

She chose America for its historic values and fought her whole life to help us understand and retain them. Ayn Rand, Patriot!

This morning I watched the OCON 2015 Live Streaming of Onkar Ghate's General Session on: Charlie Hebdo, the West and the Need To Ridicule Religion.

It was brilliant in content and tone--focused on thinking about thinking--a rare ability in our culture. And it differentiated between effective and destructive responses to irrationality, especially faith as a basis for ethics.

You can still register for the six Live Streaming general sessions for only $130. The registration service only works on what they call call the Desktop Site, not the mobile site. I'm really looking forward to them.

For anyone who hadn't seen recent ARI material, I think you'll find the tone more accessible and respectful with greater clarity on confusions that lead to misunderstanding. Onkar is an outstanding example in scholarship and nuanced presentation.
