I had not seen this movie previously to yesterday. All the reviews I have read seem to miss the point. It is a great slam against all politicians, but the Democratic Party in particular. Perhaps too subtle for the reviewers is that the main character Governor Mike Morris, as played by George Clooney, gives voice to liberal political ideology that we can both solve the worlds problems and can do it for free by taxing the rich (or and yes, not produce anymore petrol burning vehicles in the process) A few jabs against the Republicans, but solid and caustic condemnation of liberal policies and all politicians in general. Net: All politicians are crooked, untrustworthy and rotten to the core, regardless of their party, platform and/or religion (or lack thereof).
