Who's racist here?

Predictable outrage over claimed stereotypes. Stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason.

Black America should be outraged that 11% of black men 18-34 have spent time in prison, not that it's pointed out in a movie.

There should be outrage that almost a quarter of a million rapes occurred in prison last year (almost triple the rate outside of prison), not that it's pointed out in a movie.

On the other hand, it's entirely reasonable for a man going into prison to be afraid. The only absurd stereotype is the "stupid, rich, white guy".

Since the beginning of time, comedy has been offensive, that is why it's funny. Kings and emperors had fools that were the only ones allowed to criticize them without having their heads or other bits chopped off, in other words, they were the only ones who could tell the truth. First world problems...

    That's 21st century hollywood entertainment.
I have never thought Ferrell was funny or talented, and this "humor" reinforces that view.

Second on Ferrell. I do not think they are racist. I think that few people remain who are, except for our president and Al and a few others that feel the need to constantly call everything and everyone racist.

Most people do not even notice color and those that do are likely more concerned about being sure they are not being racist than anything else.

I didnt see the movie but from what i heard from friends and previews there was nothing very racist about the movie. Of course stereotypes where used, its a comedy, stereotypes are funny. But in my opinion if you don't like crude humour and are going to be offended by it, don't go see a Will Ferrell movie! Its as simple as that

Well put. I would say your idea of where the real outrage should be aimed is spot on.

I highly doubt that either of these stars is a racist, and they are counting on a big box office from the KKK.

I'm not going to be in the audience, and it sounds like the movie may be a stinker. It may not make a profit, but I'd wager they will be both "people of color" and "people of pallor" who are fans of these two celebrities that will go see it, and they won't be racists.
