That's funny, but sucks. Liam Neeson used to be one of my favorite actors. But I can't stand hypocrisy. I realize its out there and we can all be a little hypocritical at times, but earning your living as an action hero toting guns all the time and fighting the bad guys with guns. Yet he wants to remove guns from the hands of those defending their homes and families. Unexcuseable.
Yep. Last I checked, it's our second amendment, can't be infringed on, and if he doesn't like them, he can go back to where he doesn't have to worry about that.
Britain has never banned police from having guns if they feel they need them, but most still do not.
The 2nd Amendment, of course, was supposed to be a bulwark vs. tyranny, but that only worked so long as the common people were better armed than the national army. Sometime between the Civil War and WW1 that ceased to be true. I suppose that could change back, but it would take the cooperation of DC since they have all the big stuff now.
Richard Dean Anderson as MacGuyver, on the other hand... tried googling the comment I remember to state the quote accurately. Observed reports that he is anti gun. Years ago I heard him say that he is not anti gun, that he just wants people to think about alternate items for self defense. "...such as an ashtray on a table".
This would be particularly pertinent in anti gun states like the one I live in... guns are locked up, ammo seperate...
actors should only speak when they are reading from a script and at no other time. that way they can look stupid versus opening their mouths and proving it.
I enjoyed Taken and Taken 2 and bought the Blueray discs. When I heard Liam speak out against guns both those discs went in my box of targets along with Barbara Streisand records and my Xs Jane Fonda work out tapes. These idiots ought to learn to keep their mouths shut because idiots like me will boycott their future endeavors.
You just reminded me of what my son and I did to my first PC printer. When it malfunctioned it would shake and quake like it was demon possessed. It needed the hell shot out of it. Such was its end.
I'm proud to be a non-idiot like you. I'll never go to another one of that phony’s movies. I liked him until just now. I can like a movie with an actor I don't like personally, unless they are stinking hypocrites like him.
Yup! He makes his millions playing with guns and then says we should not have them. Fuck him and the horse he rode in on. He won't make another dime from me.
Not too surprising him being from the UK. Up until recent times (20-30 years) they didn't allow policeman to carry guns.
I guess the growing gangster problem and now terrorism got them to change their minds about the police at least.
Remind me again who we rebelled against, and where the 2nd Amendment came from?
