As for the "winner." Who would want to intentionally put themselves out as a target? For $10k? You'd end up spending more than that on security. Doesn't seem rational to do that for no reason other than to throw it into someone's face. A billion plus someone's of whom the "winner" will likely know absolutely none.

I see no need to intentionally offend someone. I occasionally do because I am human and lose my patience/cool every once in a while. That isn't to say that I don't recognize your statement that we are all targets in any case. This is a war, a religious war, and not of our making. I'll be fighting to defend you, can I expect the same?

It depends on if the goal is to promote objectism, i.e. show the communists that communism doesn't work, doesn't get them to where they're trying to go. If the goal is to be mean to people under a self-righteous intellectual fig leaf, communists are a golden opportunity.

As for the contest, it seems idiocy to me to intentionally make oneself a target. There are principles that I'll fight for. Making fun of Mohamed isn't one of them. Hell, I'm not out looking to chastise the idiot who put a crucifix in a jar of piss, and that is something that I find personally offensive, nor do I feel any compulsion to go out and lay my life down to support same.
There's a book "How to Be a Perfect Stranger" about how to avoid accidentally being ass wrt other people's religious backgrounds. The book was okay. I see no point in antagonizing people.
I understand the motivations of the author, though. In my world "that's blasphemy" is a joke you might say to someone who doesn't like the Packers. In other people's world, blasphemy is a real thing, a crime. That's horrible, but I don't think intentionally blaspheming for no reason is the answer.

This is a terrible dream of the Lord that came upon me this night. All who face the eastern sun and kneel on their woven mats are not praying to the Lord. Those others will fare no better. She, out of Babylon will ride upon the Beast. Her name is most wicked. It was the power of Majick that brought her into the world through the mushroom doorway. They will all bow down on bended knee to her and their blood will flow in the streets.
All who are left will hide in the Caves of the World, as the armies will fight and die. Cities will be raised to the ground. Only the Refuge will remain safe a place, which was old and sacred with the manifestation of the Lord.
A Dream Walker will be the true Light Bringer. His soul filled with holy Rage, enters the heavenly sphere and throws the guardian Melchizedek down the stairs at the Treasury of Light and tears the Vaulted Doors away. The Light of Glory engorges the realm as it roars from its’ prison. Obliterating all that is un-Holy. A Tidal-bore of Glory roars through all the Heavens and storms on the poisoned world. On ruins of Megiddo the Son of the Morning Star and She-Beast will be torn into droplets of molten glass. The Lord’s Light-titanic hammers the all the dark things into the Void. The illumination breaths the World green! Garden has returned!
