I Am Not A Revolutionist or Anarchist

Conservatives are not anarchists, radicals, or revolutionists! If anything, conservatives can properly be called counter-revolutionists! Our Constitution created a strong but limited federal government with enumerated responsibilities; all non-enumerated responsibilities are reserved to the states or to the people.

Conservatives are being called all sorts of names today by those who persist in furthering their progressive, evolutionary, programs that are designed to circumvent the Constitutional limits by expanding the federal government into areas that are clearly NOT enumerated as federal responsibilities. They have done an impressive job since the early 1900s with massive, intrusive federal programs that transfer wealth from one group of citizens to another group. The reason they resort to name calling is because they have no sound logic with which to argue their “facts”; name calling is an attempt to shut down a discussion. I am called a racist or bigot because I do not agree with President Obama’s philosophies; I am not a racist or a bigot; I abhor all forms of government expansion from any source. My dislike for the President has nothing to do with his skin color, ancestry, or religious beliefs; I dislike his policies!

All federal oaths of office include the phrase, “…defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic…” The domestic enemies of the Constitution are those who call it a meaningless, archaic, historical document that is no longer in step with what the people need. They say that because it limits their ability to put total control at the federal level and create a totalitarianism regime. Constitutional conservatives stand against all those who attempt end-runs around the Constitution, or otherwise subvert its meaning through judicial decree and expansion of federalism. We will continue to promote Constitutional government and oppose all federal power grabs that increase the power, authority, and control of government at the expense of personal liberty and freedom of the individual.

TEA party members, libertarians, and many independents are coalescing around the theme of smaller government. Together, we pose a serious threat to those who avow to expand government. The more who join us, the stronger we are. The lines are clearly drawn; every person needs to take a stand to either support the representative form of government with a powerful but limited federal government, or an ever-expanding federal government that is determined to control virtually every aspect of American life. There is no middle ground. One either supports government expansion, either actively or passively; or actively stands against it. Please join me in actively standing against it.

Objectivists are more Libertarian than Anarchist, and view violent revolution as an act of desperation. Civil disobedience, that rejection of totalitarian state control, can be a deciding factor in determining how desperate the situation has become. If the state response to widespread civil disruption takes violent form, then the Constitution becomes meaningless, and acts of treason become necessary, as our Founders came to realize when English Common Law failed them.

but isn't the Constitution already meaningless? only govt bureaucrats seem to be immune from laws. How many scandals? how many agencies formed making their own laws? Our Constitution did not allow for that. How many judges ignoring the Constitution? why does one sit around and wait for a violent state response? How many states are passing laws disarming their citizens? Or putting their citizens on lists? Or spying on everything we do or say?

The Constitution, like scripture, is a guide. Perfection in execution is not the measure of its validity, but perversion of the protection of the individual to protect the state abolishes its validity. We are reaching that condition where the state is becoming more important than the individual, which is approaching those circumstances ingrained in the Declaration of Independence that justify rebellion and treason against a corrupt state. I believe we have passed the irrationality of the 1760s when the Crown still had the opportunity to restore balance, and are quickly heading toward the conditions of the 1770s, when reason took flight, and conflict between the Crown and its citizens was inevitable. In light of that sad realization, I am stocking supplies and improving my aim.

Interesting that you should say the. I was just reading the list of facts supporting the claim of absolute tyranny in the Declaration of Independence earlier this week and I noticed some similarities between our current government and the reign of King George.

I would not say meaningless, but I agree than too many elected and appointed officials ignore it. All officers ( I read that to mean officer holders) of the US are to take an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. Duh, too many of them ARE the DOMESTIC enemies of the Constitution!

I agree. I advocate a revolution of BALLOTS, not one of BULLETS. The problem with my idea is that we need to find honest citizens willing to go to Washington and endure the hardship they will certainly face for standing up to defend the Constitution. Those same honest citizens have to appealing to enough voters to get elected. I am honest enough and willing enough, but I would not stand a snowflake's chance in hell of being elected. Civil disobedience intrigues me and it may very well become a necessary tool to employ in our battle; but as you so succinctly point out, that could lead to rebellion.

"I would not stand a snowflake's chance in hell of being elected."
And neither will any honest, ethical candidate. They will be rejected by party bosses and never get on the ballot unless controlled or controllable by party bosses. That trumps the candidates ethics and dedication.

You have a great point concerning the party machine. Rather than shrug, our local county TEA party group has populated the Republican Party County Committee with a number of conservatives and we are only a few counties shy of enough in the state to exert control over the state committee. Give us another two years and the Republican machine in Ohio will no longer be involved in the primary elections. Conservatives in other states are doing the same. We the people is a grass roots movement and it should logically begin at the bottom and work its way up the ladder. The climb is hard and steep but the reward is potentially GREAT!

The same was tried in Florida, but the jackbooted thugs of the establishment Republicans actually came up with a frivolous lawsuit against my county's Republican Party chairman in 2011, because as a Tea Party member, he upset the apple cart. Since then, RINOs from all over Florida move money (illegally) from one representative's campaign fund in a safe district to my county to actively campaign against Tea Party candidates. The Republican Party of Florida reminds me of the DeathStar.

"with a powerful but limited federal government"
No, never gonna agree to that.
Power corrupts. Centralized power is why the world is such a mess.
Decentralization of power is the solution.
The less power any individual or group in government is given the less opportunity for corruption.

We had that under the Articles of Confederation and it was not effective then, Why would that be effective now?

It was effective for the people then.
It wasn't effective for the Hamiltonians (aristocrats/monarchists/central banksters.) They pushed for stronger central government because they could not exert control over decentralized government.
The Constitution is not as good a basis to protect individual liberty as the Articles of Confederation, but it is better to promote corporatism and looting. Remember the Bill of Rights was added later at the insistence of the Anti-federalists, and that is the only reason that individual liberty survived for 73 years. Read the Anti-federalist Papers. You will be inspired.

It appears the Progressives are firmly in control right now. In my opinion the key is to root them out regardless of part affiliation. Too often we have been fooled into believing Republicans share the ideas you mentioned. Some do and some don't. Slowly we may get control back.

I agree. Too many current Republicans are nothing more than Progressives lite! The Republican party can stand in opposition to the Democratic party or it can be a milder version as it is today. We need an organized movement that is anti-progressive: our name is unimportant; what counts is our ability to stand united against the enemies of smaller government. I don't put much faith in names or labels; I focus on actions. It is quacks like a duck...

I am an optimist and believe we can always choose to stop digging whenever we find ourselves in a hole. However, can and will are two totally different verbs. Economically speaking, the correction MUST come; it will either come as a planned event or an unplanned event, but the laws of economics dictate that a correct MUST occur. An unplanned correction is the worst case scenario of "saving" our economy and I hope I am not around to see it first hand. My regret will be that I ultimately failed my children and grandchildren and they will have to bear the consequences for the nefarious actions of our current moochers and looters.

I, too, am an optimist, probably moreso than is warranted for a Gulcher. However, the laws of economics get changed whenever those in power deem it necessary. You already saw Phase 1 of "saving" the economy. It was called TARP. Phase 2 was Obama's trillion dollar stimulus. As the band Kansas put it, we are at "The Point of New Return".

The are laws because they are immutable; they cannot be changed by redefining the terms. The only way our central government can twist out of the laws of economics is to simply refuse to pay service on the national debt; which is a real possibility.

Eventually the Chinese will call us on our debt, but that likely will be longer than any of us can wait. The laws of economics actually CAN change when all of the banksters worldwide are in collusion, which they are now. The idea of zero percent interest rates (or even negative interest rates in some countries) being paid by banks to their so-called customers is allowing looters and moochers to not feel the full effect of their folly. This can't last forever, but it may well last longer than you or me last, financially or corporally.

The Chinese will hold that paper as a threat over us while we continue to pay the interest on that debt by shipping our money OUT of our economy and into theirs. The economic principle (or law) that price is a result of supply and demand factors does not change simply because is it temporarily suspended by a central bank that artificially holds interest rates below the market rate. Businesses and individual borrowers should be held accountable when they take on loans they cannot afford just because interest rates are artificially and temporarily too low. Too big to fail and too big to jail are blatant lies. The businesses get to keep the profits if they gain and we have to bear the loss if their investment sour; more thievery! We need to stop rewarding undesirable behaviors and stop punishing desired behaviors.

All of what you said is correct, but it doesn't matter. To the looters in charge, what we view as undesirable behaviors are actually desired behaviors. They want the moochers to be self-defeating because it empowers the looters. Moreover, the looters view what we view as desired behaviors as undesirable, because such behaviors make us more independent. The premise you must check is that those in power actually want us to succeed; they do not.

Sorry, but getting involved in this bastardized democratic election reality show is a good way to waste one's small, limited time on this Earth. Even if all the most ethical Constitutionalists could all get elected, they wouldn't have anywhere near the power it would take to begin to unravel the mess we call government in this country today.

    Not a chance.

Perhaps it is time for being a revolutionary. The tree of liberty needed watered with blood every 20 years, as I remember.

Once I get my 3D printing of metals project improved, perhaps I will print the first coin of the new Atlantis realm. It will probably be tin at first for melting point reasons, although silver is a 2nd choice. Gold will definitely come later for technical reasons. Once I can mint coins, will that qualify me to be Paul Revere? :-S
