Can’t Wait For That Next Election

The prospect of a Jeb-Hillary election should put the body politic in the same frame of mind as a restless teenager, ready to do something rash, dangerous, and destructive, just to relieve the tedium. That, unfortunately, is giving the body politic far too much credit.

A Jeb-Hillary election would be almost like a Stadler-Thompson election. Both candidates are likely darlings of the same crew that gave us the Federal Reserve.

Obama strikes me as trying to have it both ways--one foot in the central-banking camp and the other in the central-planning camp of the Communists.

The most clear-cut election would be Paul v. Warren.

I'd prefer Justin Amash v Warren. Unfortunately Granny Warren would win both elections by a comfortable margin. I'm often disappointed by Rand Paul's unlibertarian positions, but I'd still vote for him over any Democrat that I'm aware of. Despite the positions I disagree with he'd still be a very large move in the right direction.

Voting won't solve the problem because the process is rigged and has been since '64.
There is no peaceful solution in sight. Atlantis is needed more every day.

Wrote this in the Gulch once before.
First, I always vote. I feel it is my American duty.
But should it come down to no GOP option but Jeb Bush or some RINO like him, for the first time ever this Constitutional Libertarian will vote for the alternative Libertarian instead of always voting for "the lesser of two evils."
But I'm sick and tired of holding my nose every time I vote since Reagan.
Not to mention the wimp-out antics of RINOs in the GOP.

Ah, my friends. This is all well explained in the book "The Dicator's Handbook" which exposes why the electorate is not important because most don't vote and those who do are not the controlling votes---a politician only needs to keep his "essential" bases of power happy to remain in control. The Big Government Party learned this long ago. Not that the election is fixed, it does not need to be for BGP to remain at the helm.

I won't vote for Jeb. Not going to happen. I'd vote for Romney first. My preferred candidate would be a Texan: either Ted Cruz or Rick Perry.

You really should look at Scott Walker.

I'd certainly consider Walker. His stand against the teachers unions in Wisconsin was heartening and paid off in huge dividends not only economically, but politically as people saw that the unions really didn't represent the interests of the people and especially not the children.

Ted Cruz is one of the biggest disappointments among the non-mainstream Republicans who were elected with tea party support. (Remember, lower-case tea party only concerns itself with cutting taxes and spending, nothing else.) While he still favors some policies that differ with the Boehners and Ryans his antagonistic social stances, informed by his radical Christian beliefs, make him completely unacceptable to me. Marco Rubio is a big disappointment as well.

I could stomach Rand Paul even though I disagree with him on a few important points. I could pull his lever against any Democrat opponent without feeling dirty. But people like Justin Amash seem to be sticking to libertarian positions (although I fully admit that I'm not keeping careful track of him) and I'd much rather vote for a person that believes in true liberty and freedom.
