Jonathan Gruber is the poster boy for the true goal of the liberal-progressive agenda, the formation of a new aristocracy run by a self appointed "intellectual elite".

The sad part about gruber is that beyond his arrogance, he is RIGHT. Most of the US voters ARE idiots when it comes to understanding what they are voting for, and the hidden agendas behind their voting choices. Romney got blasted for his 47% comment about the populace, but I think he was ALSO right. Half want the goodies, and the other half make the goodies. No wonder there is gridlock, and its a good thing that we have it !!

The real irony is that Gruber was most explicitly correct about the Democrat congress members that voted for the bill without reading it; they are the essence of stupidity. It had no Republican supporters and had to be slipped through on-the-sly by Reed and Pelosi. Be careful who you send to Congress!

After the Obama (re)election, I told Democrat friends, "Well you got what you wanted. Let's see in a couple of years if you really want what you got!"

I have a customer that voted for Obama both times. She is around 70 years old, has diabetes, and only makes $300.00 a month. She has been turned down by Obamacare 3 times. I agree, she got what she voted for!!!

In some way, I think he is referring to some of the people in Congress. As Pelosi famously said "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it". And the majority of the Democrats admitted to NOT reading the bill but voted for it anyway... so I say the stupidity of the American people honestly lies with the Democrats and the MSM.

I actually thought Romney was right to state what he said about the 47%. It was correct and there was no real evidence to the contrary. In fact there was evidence to back him up! Shame he got blasted for stating something true.

You make me think of a Rush song from Test for Echos.. Lyrics go:
Half the world hates, what half the world does every day
Half the world tries to be the other half.

not necessarily in that order! Great song though!

RUSH fan myself!!! Yes, at least 47% of voters have no clue what they are doing at the polls. I loved the youtube video of Obama voters after the 2008 election... Most of them could not even tell you the VP running with Obama let alone Speaker of the House or Senate majority Leader. They all however knew who the VP was that ran with McCain. Gruber and Romney are both right!!!!!!!

Pelosi and others like her may not have known specifically what was in the bill, but they knew there would be a hidden agenda. Their votes were from malice, not ignorance.

I don't see how that could be true. They've already got power, and their core voters are already persuaded. If they gain more power in the future, it will be in spite of ObamaCare, not because of it.

I envision power enough to treat the u.s. like their
little personal sandbox -- issuing decrees controlling
our lives, in terms of food, housing, clothing, religion,
              workplace characteristics and ethics, education,
oh well ... pretty much everything. . but they are
nearly there, now. . all that's left is sealing the deal.

obamacare controls how we live our lives, birth to death.

the epa controls businesses, soup to nuts.

the fed controls money. . devaluation at will.

p.c. controls religion -- try to pray in public!

if we don't feel like puppets, we will. -- j

Mr. Gowdy can say anything he wants, but can he say we the members of the congress are going to REPEAL this damn law?
I am hearing a lot of lip service but the proof is still in the putting.

Gowdy is smart enough to know that any attempt to repeal the law outright will be vetoed. I think that there are two rational tacks: 1) let the Supreme Court demolish the law by identifying the subsidies at the Federal Exchange as illegal (the law is explicit and Gruber noted that it was deliberately written that way to "squeeze the states"), and 2) denude it piece by piece.

Unfortunately, until a new, more rational President takes office this will be the best we can get. (...and that's "pudding", not "putting" although perhaps your version makes more sense)

Repeal will have to come in 2017, unless we can get the Supreme Court to strike it down. At least this time the Court will not have to worry about Obozo's threat to pack the court -- without a majority in the Senate he won't be able to.

But a repeal bill now would be just like an impeachment bill now -- dead on arrival.

Gowdy is an amazingly courageous and grounded man. If I wasn't such an old codger, I'd beg to go to work for/with him. I'm still amazed at the lack of coverage given to Gruber by the lame-stream media. The lack of journalistic integrity is even deeper than I ever imagined it could get.

I watched the video's of Gruber sitting there interlacing his fingers and spouting his arrogance and the image that came to mind was "Dr. Evil" from GoldMember - 1 million dollars!!!!
