Romney Is Symptom, not Solution

Nothing short of the kind of cabinet level department eradication in Ron Paul's plan is sufficient for the earliest, barest move away from the precipice. We have had nothing but socialism since FDR, and Romney is nothing but the latest half-measure in Socialist State Incorporated, not solution but symptom.

Romney may not be the best solution, but he's a tremendous improvement over what we have now. I certainly think he'll be more inclined to listen to objectivist ideas than B.H.O has been. Romney may not be an objectivist, but at least he's a capitalist.

How can you tell? Every time Romney is asked a question, he has a different answer. Looks to me like a rich guy who will do anything for a buck. Personally, I think he's running for president as a hobby.

Let me ask you, did you watch his speech last night or any of his other speeches? I think if he was just looking for a buck he would NOT be running for president. He'd be out in the private sector EARNING that buck.

He's already been in the private sector doing anything for a buck.

Now he wants to remake the rules, so the 1% can rip off the rest of us even more efficiently than they do now.

Ayn Rand was pro-capitalism. What we have in the world today is more akin to monopoly. The 1% uses the government to AVOID competition and to create new markets with predetermined suppliers. That's what the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan (and coming soon, Iran) are largely about.

How are they ripping us off? Follow the money. Who profits from war? How much do they profit? We are flushing trillions of dollars down the rat hole not only by fighting wars, but by maintaining 1000 military bases around the world. Who gets rich off of that? Guns, aircraft, bullets, bombs, uniforms, MREs... and with the "contract all you can approach" housing, mess halls... and then, once we've blown something up, a school, a bridge - the contractors who "fix" it all.

Iraqi infrastructure will likely be BETTER than some places in America after we're done fighting them. And why did we fight them in the first place? They had nothing to do with 9/11. Could it be that the 1% saw an opportunity for profit?

Sound like you are more like an Occupy protester than someone who would believe in Ayn Rand.

Personally, I don't spend any time wondering whether the 1% is ripping me off. Maybe I just don't understand how they are ripping us off. Is it through the tax code? Is it by not having a cap on corporate profits? Or is it not having caps on the salaries of executives? How specifically are we being "ripped off"?

The Randian/Occupy Venn is not necessarily two separate pies. P.S. If you think Rand would give a pass to the Goldman Sachs/Lloyd Blankfeins, the Bank of Americas and the Wells Fargos and the rest of their drug cartel friends, you don't know your Rand.

I concur that elimination of a number of executive departments and independent government agencies is needed, but before we engage on a weight-loss program for the patient, we have to treat the incipient heart attack.

OK Doc. so let me get this right. Your voting for the non-commie?
WAKE UP. Tell Your Paul Friends. At least Romney will remove the ANTI-AMERICAN IslamistTERRORIST from our Federal Government, giving us a chance to elect RAND PAUL! (RAND...GET IT?)

Actually, the rules enacted at the convention will pretty much slam the door on the next "Ron Paul" in the RNC. If we want real change, we'll have to go third party.
