This could be huge!

"Jeff Bezos, the owner of The Post, said that the newspaper’s opinion section would focus on 'personal liberties and free markets.'"

My first thought was the same as mccannon01's reaction: I'll believe it when I see it. Things aren't always (or maybe they are very rarely) as they seem when presented to us. At first glance, when the NCAA came out with a rule change prohibiting men from competing in women's sports (the day after Trump signed the EO), I thought Hooray! But when I looked deeper, I saw a loophole the size of Lake Superior. In essence the NCAA said that you have to compete in the same gendered sports as what's on your birth certificate. But when you realize that 44 states allow you to amend your birth certificate (what a totally illogical concept) to change the sex, then what the NCAA did really doesn't mean jack crap. So yeah let's see what happens at The Post over the next few years before we applaud Bezos' announcement.

In Bezos' X post: "I’m confident that free markets and personal liberties are right for America. I also believe these viewpoints are underserved in the current market of ideas and news opinion." REALLY?! He's just figuring this out now?! I'll believe his new epiphany when I see more evidence of it. I think he's seeing the WaPo, owned by him, drowning in irrelevance and is desperate to throw a life preserver. We'll see...

Come on. HE KNEW this. But LIKELY was being forced to comply.

Gee Mr. Bezos... Nice company you got there. Be a shame to see you debanked, and audited by the IRS because you don't know that DEI is important to "important people".

This is his (IMHO) public announcement that "Sorry, there is a new sheriff in town, and if you stop by my office, I will request Kash or Bongino or Bondi JOIN the conference call so I understand it clearly" message.

Amending a birth certificate? I can see fixing a dna mistake to name the real father, but that's all... WaPo seems to be amending its birth certificate naming its politics.
