Not sure about #6 and slapping that fool, Van Hollen, with the Logan act as I believe any US citizen (even idiot politicians) can go anywhere to petition release of a prisoner as long as it isn't done in the name of the USA foreign relations official business. However, using taxpayer funds to cover the trip may be construed as theft or embezzlement. This leaves the miscreant, Van Hollen, in a tough spot as in if he declares he was on official business and taxpayer funding was appropriate then the Logan Act may come into play, but if he says it was a personal mission and he embezzled taxpayer dollars to fund it, then it's clearly theft. Will anything be done to him - I doubt it.
