Happy Thanksgiving! Me a Bama dino waits to take an hour drive to a large gathering by a "lake" that's really a large inlet beside the Coosa River.
So me an old age 77 dino asked to share more than 4 memories?
Forgot I once bought candy cigarettes until I read that item.
Remember dropping 15 cents into a soda machine that would then drop thick glass bottles.
Thought 25 cents too much during a visit to Atlanta but a year later it cost 25 cents in Dothan, Alabama.
Remember table-side juke boxes and milkman home deliveries but not the cardboard stoppers.
Yep for phone party lines, Butch Wax the raise the front of my flat top crewcut, Howdy Doody with kids in the Peanut Gallery~~whoa! Recalling Buffalo Bob, Claribel the Clown and Howdy's puppet buddy Dilly Dally!
Me dino acquired a collection of 45 RPM Rock 'n Roll records played on a small battery-run record player and I recall Hi-fi's later to evolve into stereos.
Don't recall newsreels at movie theaters but I do recall movies running on a loop with a cartoon and previews (way before I heard them called trailers), Recall taking dates to the middle of a movie and waiting through the loop to see the first half.
Recall my parents having metal ice trays with levers and messing with S#H Green Stamps.

As for the Meme with Putin in it, he must have watched The View. Fake News must use what Lenin said as a model.
Whoa! It's 11:15. Time to get ready to go at 12:15. Bye!

Remember all them things. Even remember that my mom's friend the next town over had a phone with a crank for ringing the operator to place a call. Bottle of soda was a dime. Ice cream cone was a nickel. Our 7-inch TV showed us the Lone Ranger, and also Howdy's old-timer pal Phineas T. Bluster.

Looking back at that meme, I see I left out the off the air TV patterns. New memory just hit me. TV stations would play the National Anthem when thy came back on the air.
Had three stations as a kid and then a fourth as a teen when Panama City, FL, reached Dothan, AL.
It was a half hour drive to the state line.

That thought about Putin occurred to me too. Mr. President Vladimir Putin has been through it. I understand his mother was very religious, and instilled in him a love for Russia and its people.

I believe it was the Brest-Litovsk Treaty that the Bolsheviks signed with Germany that convinced him Communism was wrong for Russia and the people.

As for the old as dirt, I'm proud to say I remember it all. All the good times.

    Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano
A great man, my favorite living Catholic.

How come, seeing I am an Objectivist - well more than anything else?
It is not his conservatism such as wanting to bring back the old mass, nor is it his religious views, subjects outside my knowledge or interest.
My admiration is for his courage.

Archbishop Vigano is a staunch anti-wokist, read his views on climate change, he speaks up in defense of Trump -as this meme from Dob shows. I would have liked to see some development in Catholicism, the lurch to Marxism at the top was not what I had in mind.

Number 6 reminds me of the first turkey I ever roasted, and I was about 30 or so, and the turkey had been frozen and I didn't have time to thaw it, but I found a recipe for frozen turkey where you cover it with aluminum foil and roast it. So I did. But I cooked it inadvertently UPSIDE DOWN. Everybody said it was delicious.

Never cooked another until about 40 years later.
