Good job Pat Condell. You put into words what I, and many have thought about for a long time. I used to consider myself a "most liberal among liberals" until I looked around and found I was the "most tolerant among liberals". Later, I dropped the liberal label altogether. I feel honest now that I don't call myself a liberal. Progressivism is a hodgepodge of socialism, communism, new age and whatever the flavor of the week is. They stand for everything and nothing in particular at the same time. Where ever there's a microphone, you will find a progressive lurking.
Allowing them to define their own label as progressives is one of the biggest mistakes we make. They are socialists and communists at their core and in their goals. Nothing more and nothing less. We ascribe those labels to Russia and Cuba without recognizing that those two entities sought and controlled their states through violent revolution. But we are dealing with what I term as 'Soft Socialists' that are being very successful at manipulating what and how we think through such simple means as convincing us to call the progressives. Get real people.
Yes. But just behind that is letting them redefine Fascists and Nazis as "right wing" when in fact they were merely the same philosophical ideas as progressivism in the US but in an Italian and German context. Even including the eugenics ideas of the Nazis which resonated heavily with progressives here which put monstrous eugenics policies in place in the US in the 20's and 30's.
I could probably laugh at this if they weren't in charge.
All I can do is wait for the day when reality hits them upside the head with a nice big 2x4. With their rose-colored lenses lying at their feet and their heads sufficiently deflated and emptied of kool-aid, I'll be standing right there willing to give them a hand up.
I nodded all the way through that video. The following is something I've posted elsewhere several times before I ever heard of Galt's Gulch: You are a racist! = Shut up and sit down! Having said that, I am now recalling how the new inquisition at NPR turned on Juan Williams for admitting people in Muslim garb when he was on an airplane made him nervous. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story... The happy end was a million dollar a year contract with Fox News, a place where diverse opinions are tolerated. I recall that another regular liberal (some blonde looker) there jumped all over Juan for later admitting that a large group of blacks on a street corner made him nervous.

Or another smack if they reach for the lenses. :)
