I might get tossed from the Gulch, but I've got two questions

I know I’m potentially setting myself up to get blown out of the Gulch, but I’ve got two questions I have to get off my chest. If this post costs me my Gulch membership, so be it. These questions are not—I repeat, NOT—directed at any one person. But I am putting them out because I want to hear what others think. I simply have no answer to either of them.

And with these two questions, I grab both third rails: Abortion, and the T part of the letter group.

My first question: If you are a practitioner of any modern Christian religion, it’s likely that your faith believes that life begins at conception. In this position, how in the Hell can you vote for a Democrat? Yes, this is a huge generality, and I know there are exceptions, but as a group, Democrats pretty much support abortion, in some cases damn near up until the time of birth. How can you possibly vote for a candidate who will do his/her best to enact laws not only allowing abortion, but actually encouraging it, and thereby violating one of the basics of your faith?

My second question: If you’re female, how in the hell can you vote for candidates who want to, quite literally, take away the things you’ve worked so hard to obtain? Again, yes, it’s a generality, but as a whole, Democrats are doing everything they can to erase all of the benefits you’ve rightfully finally obtained with Title IX by allowing biological males to compete against—and more often than not, defeat—biological females. How many scholarships, Olympic opportunities, etc., and the resulting downstream opportunities, have been lost because of this Democrat-driven trans-mania we are being forced to endure? How can you vote for someone who, for all practical purposes, won’t even acknowledge your existence?

I’m sorry, but I honestly do not understand how a Christian person or a woman could possibly vote Democrat, since so damn many of their policies run counter to your beliefs, your tenets, even your biology.

Fire away, Gulchers.

Well since I have lived in Texas nearly all of my life except for one excursion to Louisiana when my x2 got posted at Ft Polk. I came home again in 1972 and haven't even thought of leaving. You can bet I no longer vote Democrat. I did at a very young age but not since I could understand things. Since we are now entering our Hurricane season I think the Border crossings will cease to be a problem. Let these crazies coming in experience just one of our hurricanes and they'll want to scoot back across that Border and return to their homeland. Incidentally today we are expecting a foot of rain to fall in the next three days. nb

I could care less if someone wants to identify with one of the letters in LGBTQ+. So long as they don't force me to identify with one of them (or others included in the +). Let sleeping dogs lie.

We've got a situation with the LGBTQ+ community here in Spokane. They painted their strips on one of our streets and some kids peeled out with their car over them. Now there is a bulletin looking for their arrest and convictions of a hate crime. A total waste of police response. Can I paint anything on my street? Hell no. This is not how a democratic system is supposed to work. It's just another example of hypocrisy. The LGBTQ+ are just looking for attention, they get it, and some poor kids get an arrest record.

Maybe you should paint a patriotic flag or saying on a street and see how many police are put on the case of someone squealing on it. Zero, I'll bet.

It would be interesting, freedom of speech and all, for someone to paint a Nazi flag on an adjacent street. We do not live in a free society anymore, and not even one that is balanced.

The whole idea of gay rights is to have all people treated the same way regarding basic human rights. There shouldn’t even be lbgthfxsd or water it is. It’s time to move past this nonsense

Very interesting questions. My father used to tell me that I should start my church called "What's Happening Now" due to my constant spiritual search. So, I do agree with you about the prevailing evil that has infiltrated politics and the administrative state. They no longer see the people of this country paying their salaries but as lowly peons. I had to submit my tax return twice to the IRS after waiting some time I had not received the refund (which I desperately needed) my accountant said I should contact my congressperson. I sent a letter and then submitted a release form. After about three more weeks I finally received the refund—a total waiting time of three months. I would love to see the administrative state and most of the federal government dissolved. I believe that evil has increased due to the replica of the Gate of Baal is across from the congressional building. https://hiddeninthecrag.org/.

The "administrative" state acts in its own interests.
Keeping your assets as long as possible is normal.
Competence is also becoming rare in many parts of our society that now awards jobs with no weight toward merit, experience, or intellect.
Have you noticed that "private" shipping has become as slow or slower than government shipping, and often with as little concern for customer satisfaction?
Service in the US is declining rapidly and is approaching Banana republic status almost as rapidly as government.

Government agencies are slower than they ever were, in spite of major advances in computer power and major expenditures having been made by the agencies.

We buy a lot of subassemblies from china. I have noticed that shipping FROM china is really great and has gotten cheaper since the pandemic. Getting things from china to the USA is fast and accurate. Getting them delivered within the USA is the problem once they arrive in the country.

I have noticed that customer service in the USA has failed to a large extent, and prices here have been continually rising for the last few years- I would average the total rise in prices at 30-40%. Its mostly because of money printing, deficit spending, and some supply chain disruption as companies are trying to deal with great reset restrictions and regulations.

Our government is WAY too big. It cant seem to do anything very well, if at all. A friend had to wait two years to get a simple renewal on his green card. I cant get a registration renewal appointment for two months from the DMV. Its all about money, and in spite of have a brand new larger building, the wait time is still months...
