Best way to avoid disasters is to live where there is limited possibility of disaster, and to build so as to overcome the disasters if they do happen. forget the red cross.

On this day in the video me dino had loads of fun watching telephone pole and trees dance a jig before plopping down when I failed to make it to a storm shelter.
I kept wondering when something big would hit my car's roof.
I had to park at my next door neighbor's because I found a huge pecan tree had fallen across the street, my front yard and the top stopped just short of my front door.
My house received no damage but neighbors did. Some local neighborhoods looked like war zones.

Would have posted earlier but spent the day in an ER with a brother who feared he had appendicitis. Turned out to be a sizable kidney stone.

My grandson & family live outside of Houston and said the weather was bad but they are OK.

The problem is the idiots building these $350,000 homes today were not around in 1979 when 49 inches of water fell on our small city in 48 hours. I add there were no deaths. Our $21,000 homes back then were custom built by serious contractors. .Roofs didn't fly off but people were rescued from their rooftops .Bless the Red Cross a lot of money was given by them to residents who had water inside their homes up to the roofs. i know. I wrote the vouchers. nb
