Comparison between Rearden, Roark, Rockefeller, and Trump trials

I know that Trump is not getting a jury of his peers. Use this thread to compare and contrast the Hank Rearden, Howard Roark, John Rockefeller, and Donald Trump personalities and trials. They all were tried by a bunch of rotters (to use an Ayn Rand word).

      Where is Judge Narragansett?

Anyone think that perhaps Rand chose the judge's name from the status of the Narragansett language and people? The language is extinct and the Narragansett people few in number.

She once said that she chose names for characters based on the sound. Ellsworth Toohey comes immediately to mind. Some of the names appear to be jokes, such as Balph "can't spell his own name" Eubank.

We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force.

We are now past that point of inversion.

        Agreed...
This is what happens when you live on an Island. Hire a local gang to secure your home. And they realize it is self-sustaining for them if they kill you and your family, and just take it over.

Clearly it is by brute force. Clearly they are Abusing BOTH the Legal System and the People.

        "No Prosecutor" would prosecute HRC.
THAT was the warning shot we missed.

        Translation:
"Because we control the Prosecutors. We control WHO will be prosecuted!"

'when they secure your home and kill you and family - they are not able to keep the home (production, factory, business, anything viable) going and will soon have to look for another home - and start all over.... But yes. Soros controls the prosecutors - and right now they are showing their power. How to overcome that? Local people getting involved and not paying attention to the money (commercials). Can that realistically happen? Has there been enough pain for that to happen? Will find out in a few months..........

I am only partly insulated from the negative effects of looters and moochers in east central Florida, but it is about as good as I think I will be able to find.

Found Guilty of Nothing... 34 Times!
With the choice of having to serve time CONSECUTIVELY.

      Nice timing on the sentencing.
If I were Trump, I would move the Nomination to a few days before the July 10th.

Side note: Clif High had said that in July, there is a HUGE release of Energy over a 2 day period. LIke we would be waiting for something, and then it would be "announced". LOL. Nice timing...

The problem is that now there is officially no place to invest your value (treasure, hard work, etc.) where it will get rewarded ... unless someone invented a Galt's Gulch that I don't know about yet.

Make 1oz .999 gold Gulch coins?

Creating Gulch coins presumes that there is a Gulch to spend them on items of value in, with fellow people of like mind and virtue. Part of the problem with the final crumbling of America this past week is that there is nowhere to shrug to.

.999 gold will likely have value in any market that goods are available, and that value will increase against fiat.
Perhaps a second passport that guarantees residency elsewhere is a good investment, too.
Don't limit yourself to a tyrannical regime where your earnings are stolen to support your enemies.

What a joke the Manhattan court is...have these jurors have no shame? If it wasn't so tragic it could be a comedy

The problem, is that any dissenting jurist would receive massive intimidation in their community. Given their neighborhood is 90+% Democrat the persons life would become miserable - that is what New Yonkers do. And the judge and prosecutor are fully aware of this fact.

Indeed, the leftwing extremist control freaks have no fear or shame in intimidating anyone with a different view or steps out of line. Additionally, sending Trump to a gulag will swing the doors WIDE open for sending the rest of us by the trainload.

If Trump could have acted as Reardon did, it would have made no difference at all. Today's situation is so far beyond where the fictional kangaroo-court stood that the antagonists aren't even pretending to uphold any civilized standard of law and justice. Bananas anyone?

What in America is still worth saving?

Having just returned from a 2-week trip from Alabama to Arizona and back, through the heartland, there are definitely parts of America WORTH saving.

I'm not sure there is any chance of saving them, so I'm trying to see as much as possible while there is still time. Trying to Enjoy the Decline.

Sorry, katrinam41, my question about "What in America is still worth saving?" is partly rhetorical and partly serious, but if you read VetteGuy's response to the same question, there are parts of America worth saving. The kangaroo courts are definitely worth jettisoning.

Got it. I do agree with VetteGuy that there are some things worth saving and that if we want to see them before they sink into the ooze, now is the time. I also agree with you that most "intellectual" things are not worth the paper they're printed on. The thuggish, ugly culture of hate, destruction and self-loathing will pull everything not anchored in a moral, ethical and right-to-exist mindset into the bottomless muck of non-existence.
