UFOs

Let me start by saying I'm not what one might call "a believer". I don't believe humanoids are visiting from a distant planet. I think if we ever find intelligence from far away it will be a goo with a 400 IQ, an octopus-like creature, or (haha) maybe some fog that drifts about. Who knows? I'm not holding my breath. All that said, I recently had my second experience seeing something in the sky that I couldn't explain. The first one was a very high, bright light doing very odd movements in the night sky. I was sitting with a lady friend of mine discussing all kinds of things by the pool when we saw that and it was actually somewhat frightening to see. This was a few years ago.

Our place sits on the side of the east Sierra with an incredible view of a few mountain ranges and a large valley. I've been joking that if a UFO comes by we'd have a great view of it. Just last week, during the afternoon, my fishing buddy and I were sitting out shooting the breeze when we saw something we're still talking about, trying to figure out. Over a hill just to the south of us I saw a black object that I'd guess to be about 6' across rising up over the hill. This was really strange. It was wiggling around erratically, like a hyped up jellyfish on crank. It was black with no shine - stealthy, flat black. At first I thought it may have been a large trash bag that the wind picked up. There was very little breeze. It rose up about 500 feet, flapped around in one spot for a while, then slowly, steadily rose straight up right out of sight. I grabbed the binoculars to get a good view and by the time it was a couple thousand feet up I realized there was a small, white object racing around it - something maybe the size of a baseball. It was moving much like how small birds dive-bomb raptors. Then the small, white object raced to the west, leaving the large black object. Gave my buddy the binocs and he said he could see a white, transparent orb above the black object. We sat there and just watched this black object wriggling around rising straight up out of sight. It was just really strange to watch this thing.

I've always thought that many UFO sightings are probably just very advanced weaponry. Have had a couple of the common ones figured out by friends in the military. One friend of mine was out hiking under a very remote military operation area decades ago when he saw an F-117 flying low and it blew his mind because it wasn't public info at that time.

I've seen drones do pretty amazing tricks.

As for aliens...it's impossibly arrogant to believe WE are alone in the universe. I just know that we're sufficiently interesting to travel light years to observe.

My idea of humanoid aliens pretty much mirrors what we look like, with selectivly evolved details.
However, our language barrier would be immense.

I also have had an experience; I say it was unidentified because I’m truly unqualified to judge what we saw. Whis was the early eighties, I was around 12 or 13 years old. My family lived in Southern California; we lived on property with no one else around. This particular night, we were working on our property late and decided to go to a local steak house for dinner, Jim’s Steak House. My family drove down our driveway and stopped so I could get out and close our gate. As I was walking back to the car, I saw a faint light in my peripheral vision, I ignored it at the time. I got back in the car, and we started to drive down the road. No one else was on the road and no homes were nearby. I was in the back seat of our family Honda Civic with my sister, my parents were in the front. All of the sudden, light filled the inside of the car, it was coming from the rear-view mirror. My father looked behind us in the same way you would as if someone appeared out of no were on your ass. I looked behind us and saw nothing, it was pitch black. Looked forward and I could see the light in the rear-view mirror. I did this like two more times before it disappeared. My father turned around and nothing was on the road, and we didn’t see it again.

We could see the reflection of the light, but it wasn’t visible directly behind us.

Both my sister and mother saw the light but never looked behind the car. Both me and my father witnessed this. I’m unqualified to state what we saw or what it was because we do not know. All I know is that this seems to not apply to the laws of physics that I know of. We cannot explain what we saw but we did see this.

To continue this discussion forward, I think it’s the height of arrogance to state we know everything there is about physics and that its impossible to travel here from other planets. Furthermore, it could be our future selves checking in on ancient relatives. Or it could be swamp gas (no swamps in California, unless you consider Sacrament a swamp). It is what it is, an unexplained sighting. Never has anyone ever told me that they witnessed anything similar. Personally, every possibility is on the table, including little green men. I am just unqualified to answer the question.

Arrogance is coming undone. James Webb Space Telescope is blowing the lid off of "Big Bang Theory" (fiction according to P.M. Robitaille, Ph.D. host of SkyScholar on YouTube) as well as Dark Matter and Dark Energy. The models don't fit the observations.

The whole judging astronomical distances is a house of cards built on red shift and standard star luminosity. The whole red shift hypothesis doesn’t set well with my intuition as if the more distant galaxies are more red shifted but that light left that galaxy much earlier in the universe than the nearer galaxies. This would indicate that the expansion is slowing, would it? i.e. the galaxies from a long time ago were moving away faster than they are more recently.

This has been bugging me for years, I’m not a physicist but I’d like to find out why this observation is incorrect?

If the Big Bang theory falls, we can do away with dark energy and dark matter. All of these games they are playing to make the numbers add up can be stopped.

Intuitively, it doesn’t make any sense to state the age of the universe because time is relative. Time in our gravity well moves at a rate we are accustomed with but what we see when we look through a telescope is history of another time, at a different rate. Am I wrong here?

          yup, lots of questions
more as we see farther out

dark energy and dark matter were always cheat answers to me

why not the Dr Who answer, someone opened holes to other places to let out or in Entropy?
          :-)

the whole "Inflation of the Universe" thing never set well with me

the space between stuff inflated so it seemed that the galaxies moved faster than light for a time ???

really?? well, if the the "stuff" that the galaxies sat it moved faster that light, the galaxies moved faster than light, to say otherwise is a cop-out

also, if the universe is expanding, why is not the ALL of the universe expanding, the space between the Sun and the Earth for example or does a certain amount of gravity hold it all together?

While I have never observed a UFO that I'm aware of, back in the 1960s, as a junior Air Force officer, one of my extra duties was to collect any reported sightings in our area and report them to the Bluebook team. In that duty I was allowed to examine previous reports of sightings and abductions in order to help sort out natural sources or possible hoaxes so I wasn't passing along nonsense.

In that role of being a UFO collector, my direct reports were almost all explainable as mistaken sightings of aircraft or ship lights (the base was on the Gulf coast), or astronomical objects like planets. However, there were a couple of reports by credible observers that couldn't be explained, falling into the category of the 5% of unexplainable sightings in the Bluebook database.

As others have noted here, the variety of sightings would indicate either a number of unknown real undiscovered natural effects, or the idea that there must be a lot of "visitors" observing us. I'm inclined to think that we could be observing unoccupied probes, which could explain maneuvers that no living creature could withstand.

While I hold some fairly different thinking than mainstream conventional opinion on these matters... I think advanced weaponry or aircraft are involved. I have read too many transcripts of pilots encountering "impossibly fast" things flying near, above, beside and past them over the years on almost all continents, generally involving maneuvers that defy physics (as we understand the subject.)

I grew up in the country, and spent time at night with my dad looking at the stars. Where we lived, we observed the star field positions changing some throughout the year. Except for one bright light that stayed stationary in generally the same position throughout the year. We had discussed it, as that's unusual. Maybe a stationary satellite?

One night, as we were talking and watching the stars, the 'stationary light' shot/dropped straight down extremely rapidly, like a bullet. Not a gradual drop, like something falling from the atmosphere. It was more like it was hauling butt at extremely high speed. It also appeared to go straight down, not arcing across the sky. We looked at each other, wide eyed and could only laugh. Never saw it again.

There was no mention of it on local news, or with neighbors. It wasn't a "shooting star," as I have seen those a few times. We were left with the assumption that it was something manmade, and whatever it was, it was capable of maintaining altitude and position for a long time, and then moving very rapidly. Who knows?

The only UFOs me dino has seen are those on TV caught on films and videos all the way back to the Fifties.
Methinks if any contain space aliens who have to be far more intelligent than us, they are also recording us just for laughs.
You know, like I used to watch Monty Python on TV.

An old friend of mine had one hell of a sighting that I'll have to mention here soon. He has passed away, sadly. But we still often talk of his story and laugh out loud because it's so crazy. He actually got pictures of it, had a cop come out of nowhere to interfere with his sighting, then the film mysteriously was done away with in processing. Crazy, crazy story...I'm chuckling just typing this and remembering it.

My 2 Cents. I've wanted to believe. My government admitting they exist means they likely are not what we think. LOL.

But flight MH370 gone missing, never found. Told me how big the Earth/Oceans are in ways I did not grasp.

Humans have been on the planet for 1 Million years. Imagine a group capable of amazing things like moving 150 Ton Stones we can barely move today.

I imagine if they built ships, they would explore the ocean. AND some UFOs seem to be sea worthy.

So, one explanation is that a group of survivors are living under the oceans, and come up from time to time. Making them terrestrial. Meaning the government can say "Not from outer space" and be 100% correct!

This is easier than the physics involved in intergalactic travel. But I also realize the universe is a huge place.

Finally, some people have claimed that being consciously ready to see them, causes them to appear. I believe their can be truth to that.

But I will likely never know the truth.

Have you watched "Resident Alien" on Netflix (original Apple TV)? Hilarious (if you ignore the woke themes in all new shows)!

When you note a 400 IQ Octopus, It triggered a memory.

    my issue with UFOs

there seem to be a lo of different ones, different shapes, sizes, ect

so the Earth must be grand central like Men in Black or something for all the different types of "ships' and 'aliens" seen

Chariots of the Gods has some good points, but all their answers are the same, aliens did it.
and all the human cultures point to different places in the sky as points of origin of humans

examples of aliens teaching humans are all the pyramids around the world. ok, but if you are going to use rock, there are only so many ways to build high with rock....

    could aliens be here? yup

if they are, their tech is not very good are hiding the fact

I believe they have lived here for thousnad of years. Way advanced, as even Russia told pilots not to engage, as they are way more advanced. Biden dummy says shoot at them!
I have seen them since 1956, desert road between Roswell on way to Gallup. Triangle followed us for several miles, no noise, I stared up at it, unafraid as a child. Dad seemed not concerned, likely having seen them before. At the time we had no anti gravity, nor advace tech. This was silent, moved all directions, and then straight out of sight within a second! I was laways a believer. I went to school with one of the rancher's grandsons, where the Roswell debris fell. My brother saw an round ship land in a field in Ohio. at 2 amam leavinging his pwoer plant shift. About 2 years ago, I started noticing orbs over our house, wood, with creek. Thye became more frequent. One night I had f4 pulsating white orbs, and two black triangles. I decided it was time to declar them welcome. Raised my hand and said "welcome." Instantly one triangle flashed all three lights brightly at me. I was stunned, but it was cool. I have seen the orbs shift from round, to dropping down rectangle gray shape item when then dropped down a black triangle over our creek. Then all went bakc up into the white orb. I go out an watch some nights, they are there several times a week for 2 years now, sometimes out front near the crrk or out back whre we border a farm field and they can really go fast. When we had a heavy snow at the end of this season, I saw one fly straight down and hover about three feet over the snow, They are fascinating, and undoubtedly very intelligent. We have a sort of mini mesa in front, so none of the neighbors have even seen them, you have trees which block view of our property fromeven next door. I call them my aliens and would never call the nearest base, nor the dummies on broadcast news.
If you doubt, Oppenheimer saw the Roswell craft, examined the propulsion sys. He also declared to the press that he saw the craft loaded, with dead aliens and two live ones at roswwell craft, he came quickly from Los Alamos. But Torswell was threatened with etermination if they did not keep silent. Gov. blocked all routes in or out, until the radio and newspaper were in their control.

My mother, sister and I are in Blue Book for a sighting in North Royalton, Ohio in the early 60's. We watched a bright light visible over the treetops doing ups, downs and zigzag for about 5 minutes. It suddenly took off right over our heads, how high up I can't say (no reference points). Shaped almost like a guitar pick, it transited the sky from west to east in under 5 seconds, no sound, vague markings on its bottom. We lived near Hopkins Airport and some testing grounds, with Wright Patterson just 2 hours away. We have no clue as to what we saw, but we do know what it wasn't.

This sounds exciting. I haven't been to Marfa lately but I have sat for hours watching the Marfa lights that no one can figure out. I even drove up into the mountains to Mexico from Marfa and saw nothing. But there is something about those lights that haven't yet been explained. nb

OK....Here's the story I wanted to share about my friend. My buddy, Bob, lived in the San Juan Bautista area, on an isolated road near Fremont Peak. This area just south of his house is very mysterious area. It's a beautiful region of California. The area just past where Bob saw the saucer is mysterious...blurred on public satellite images...reports of odd, secret-looking government facilities back in the hills there. Bob lived on a narrow road on the edge of town, with a gravel driveway to his house. One evening he was driving out on his driveway when he saw a saucer hovering, spinning over the grass field across the street from his place. He drove across the road and pulled his car into the edge of the field to get a really good look at this craft. He was fixated on it when he was startled by a knock on his driver-side window. He rolled down the window to speak with the police officer standing there. "What are you doing?" Bob, shocked, pointed through his windshield at the saucer and said, "Looking AT THAT! I live right there" (pointing back at his home). The cop didn't acknowledge the craft, just saying, "You need to go home." Bob got his camera and snapped several shots of the craft. He said after several minutes it rose up a little bit and then headed west, just over a large grove of eucalyptus trees near Highway 101 - a grove that I know very well. It raced off out of sight over the trees. This was back when 35 mm cameras were the norm. Bob took the film to the one local drug store for development and (Bob, always being the gregarious, open guy he was) said something like "Take good care of this film. It has some important photos in it. I'll be back tomorrow." Well...He went back the next day and was informed that "the machine ate the film" and there were no developed pictures for him to retrieve. We still laugh about that..."the machine at the film". I knew Bob a long time and am confident he wouldn't make up this story. He described this saucer in detail to me and I did find photos of an old Nazi experimental program with a saucer that matched it very well.

I've been seeing them my whole life.

It wasn't until I began collecting petroglyph photos that I realized that these "folks" have been vacationing here on earth for ever.

Sometimes military jets are flying in erratic formations over my house and I think:
"The TIC TAC is giving them a run-for-their-money" 😉

I was floating in a pool outside of Phoenix in the 90s, looking up at the dark sky, when I noticed a multitude of bright objects moving very fast in unison and close together, and then suddenly zig zag, outside the normal parameters of any aircraft.
