I do look forward to TGIFfunnies. Thanks!
Born Year 1947 Baby Boomer me dino wonders if that camera has advanced to push buttons from rotary dialing.
Yeah, I recall thinking that making phone calls by pushing buttons was quite a technological advancement when I was a teen.
Groovy!
BTW, me never imagined taking pictures with a phone until that feature came along.
As for the phone, my dad was not going to spend the extra $ for push buttons and a lighted keypad... different times and different values.
Thank you!
4% hub cap took me by surprise! LMAO
The knowledge and expertise died with those that created these things.
I think a big part of it is our risk-averse culture. In the 60s, it was accepted that big adventures carried some significant risks. These days you can't buy a car without $20k of "safety" equipment (most of which would be unnecessary if drivers paid attention to driving).
Mars is harder to get to, asteroids and radiation belt with humans on board. Musk might solve that problems.
My Dad was very proud of the work on the engine for the SR-71. (tech that can't be duplicated these days.)
unofficially caught doing over 3,000 mph.
I remember my printing company printing a mag add stating that the SR-71 flying from NY to LA arrived 3 hours before it left. (given the time difference)
Back when we could build anything.....and do anything.....
And it was taken out of service....because it cost too much. But it still cannot be replicated.....
.....sigh.....
