The dream of net-zero carbon emissions—and its vision of blanketing hundreds of millions of acres of American land with wind turbines and solar panels—is running up against the reality that most of the land in America is still privately owned and many Americans don’t want these massive industrial installations near their homes.

They don't really want to blanket the land with wind turbines and solar panels. They want to seize the means of agriculture to starve people. It's that simple. They have a stated goal of depopulating the planet. They don't care how they do it.

Cover the landscape to the size of Texas with panels and turbines to save the landscape? It brings to mind a Star Trek scenario where the Borg captured Earth and it was covered over with Borg tech. The beautiful farmland here in western NY (The Peoples Republic of) is being slowly covered. I don't think those panels are producing much being buried in snow right now. And the wind turbines dotting all over the "Southern Tier" - most of them aren't even moving when I drive by.

Yeah, I can see this as a valid concern. One thing that I think would be shocking is how much open land is owned by China…
