Good Men are Disappearing

I've been following this gentleman for a while. I find his "rants" entertaining and enlightening. In this clip he reminds me of something I noticed when I left California. I know many engineering firms in northern California due to my work there. Several were asking me to stay and, if I wasn't going to, direct them to any engineer with any experience. I tried to do the latter. Couldn't do it. There were zero such engineers floating around...Which, believe it or not, is very unusual. The good guys were gone. It's similar. But, I really like where this rant goes...

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,” (Source unclear).

Good men aren't disappearing, they are Shrugging and the results are patently clear and frightening!

Things need to get bad enough that the good men aren’t automatically thrown into cages for trying to stop it. A certain amount of Schadenfreude comes along with this as a consolation prize.
The snowball that’s rolling and picking up speed could not be stopped by 1 million Gulchers. We may not see it turn around in our lifetimes or our children’s. So eat, drink and be merry. And never miss a chance to point and laugh as this ship sinks and they all argue about who gets too steer.

I have children and grandchildren. I regret not being able to do more to stop this descent into the darkness of mindless Socialism. I expect to be trying to do more until death.

      Edmund Burke.

Kill your TV. Hell, even the internet is poison.

But remember one thing, we are Gideon's army of 300 against Midianites, the Spartan army of 300 over the Persians.
We will prevail... unless you give up.

The gate to hell is wide, the gate to heaven, narrow.

The good man I knew already disappeared 29 Dec
2007. I don't say I always agreed with him. Some of his notions outraged me, such as the notion that it was a
person's obligation to procreate, and thus carry on his/her ancestral line. But he taught me to fight and stand up for myself.
He knew a lot about electricity, and could make just about anything he wanted to make. He was my father.
He died 29 Dec 2007. I think it was Alzheimer's. Did I idolize him? NO. Did I worship him? Of course not.
Did I love him? God, yes.

    ANOTHER GOOD MAN GOING?

There's a European effort to ban Tesla automobiles until all Tesla assembly plants are unionized. Of course, Elon Musk is resisting these efforts. It's happening in Sweden (where they don't make cars anymore) and Germany (where unions are the mainstay) and rumblings elsewhere.

Can Elon Musk afford to just walk away from those countries and say "Forget it! I don't need to sell cars to you!" in Europe?

We see what he's doing with X (formerly Twitter), in that he does whatever the hell he wants to with it, because he owns it. Would he someday just drop businesses and watch them die because of union demands? Because of Socialist demands?

He's an interesting man to watch.

I left california years ago. Its a beautiful place, but a horrible place to live with the left having taken it over. Good riddance to it. Its dead to me. Amazing that the dems could even consider Newsome for president. Of course, they put the half wit (true) Biden in there now, so anything is possible.
I moved to Nevada, and now that the left is taking over that state , I am considering another move.

With no children of our own and very little family left we have always wondered who we will leave or worldly treasures to. Lately we have decided to just live our life and enjoy what time we have left because there is no one we want to profit from our hard work. Least of all is this government.

If all the "old souls" left I don't think they will truly be missed because any good from them will be programmed out of the looters thoughts and only the perceived "bad" will remain. They will blame their problems on us long after we are gone.

I liked this video. Thanks for posting it, Abaco.

It's kind of funny because "community" is another one of those words which has been twisted to mean anything. Does one's skin color determine that one is a part of the "black" or "white" or "hispanic" community? Is it "sexual preference?" No. These are all ridiculous faux-categories. Preposterous intersectional divisions meant precisely to divide people and have them focus on their differences rather than on their similarities. It's not enough that we are people. Human beings. No, now it matters first and foremost on which of the "persecuted" niche segments as if the outliers are the norm. Society is no longer the norm, but the outlier! Can you see the inherent contradiction?

Last night I started writing an editorial on how the current methods of ecological stewardship (LEED, T24 Part 6, the Green Code (which I helped draft in its first version)) no longer work - and why they don’t. I even have an alternative suggestion what would work. The words just flowed from my fingertips as I typed. I looked at it, realized how upsetting it would be, and nixed it. I’m transitioning into the “No shits to give” phase of Gulch living. The risks of trying to help society outweigh the rewards. Even in science and engineering.

I am familiar with this guy's online presence and videos -- straight talk and keen perspicacity.
Indeed, a lot of the older, traditional, talented types are walking out -- quietly and without ceremony.
As for me, I have a few income sources, but more to the point, I am keeping my expenses very low.
Changes occur at the margins -- be aware of the margins and the rate of change there.
Even though I live 8 miles from the border with Mexico and there is a several mile gap in the wall -- and we have a stream of illegals crossing daily, the crime and breakage has been kept minimized ... for now.
Keep your preps in order including good health and connections with others in your Gulch.
