No easy way for an individual to protect against this unless totally off grid... Would love to hear other comments if other solutions on individual basis
Haven't heard of any either. Magnetos/air starters/ and hope the rest holds out. Best solution is Diesel with an air starter, car/truck/gen. assuming house/car/truck wiring is in tacked. That's where the problem lies. Experts say that in the main event, (micro nova), even metal under ground melts.
Still think that encasing copper etc in carbon/carbon fiber might work. Carbon can withstand an immense amount of heat, (6000 degrees +) the metal inside may melt BUT it will still remain intact and become solid once it has a chance to cool down.
