Maybe I'm missing something, but doesn't this shoot to Hell all of their previous arguments by admitting that the sun is responsible for temperatures on earth? Didn't this idiot just admit that their entire "let's kill everything that produces CO2" argument is 100% hyprocritcal?

Awesome, rainman0720 as that is the very first thing that popped into my mind! I'm sure John Kerry and other jet setting elites are quite relieved their personal carbon footprints aren't the cause of global warming after all! Of course, I suspect "they" never believed their own culpability when they can blame all of us - and tell us what we need to sacrifice.

Maybe the muppets in the Whitehouse might want to think more about:
      > The invasion on our southern border,
      > The thousands of missing children,
      > Hunter's laptop and the Biden criminal family,
      > Nuclear war with Russia and China,
      > Destruction of the US dollar: the rise of BRICs
      > The Consequences of mucking with things they know nothing about.
      > The fact it's been cold and rainy all spring.

Wait! So that big yellow thing in the sky is what drives our climate, and not a trace gas in the atmosphere?
    Who would gave guessed?

Correct me if I am wrong, but if you have two regions where the temperatures differ, doesn't that generate wind that attempts to neutralize the differences? In other words, they're setting things up to create artificial tornadoes and hurricanes here and their scientific "advisors" think this is a good idea?

    They are MORONS!

If only... If only the so-called scientists would get their science straight. If only the mediass would get actual facts out to their readership. If only people weren't so wrapped up in Orange Man Bad and conservatives are terrorists that they would actually search for real information instead of sucking pablum kool-aid. In other words, wake up you insane mob out there and realize just how much you don't know or willfully ignore. The results of implementing this travesty of "science" cannot possibly be good for us, and could very possibly cause the destruction that all of the climate change thunbergs are screaming about.

Maybe they should be worried more about the latest reporting on thermal vents in the ocean floor allowing magma to escape and raise local ocean temperatures by a degree or two. Or maybe they should harden the electrical grid in preparation for the polls switching.

The direction these climate change creatures are taking us has the same direction as a tornado, and the same result. Total chaos. Sounds like the perfect way to wipe out most of us, leaving the few as surfs to the elites who had the money for means to survive the planned destruction.

The muppets in the Whitehouse and bureaucrat Furries are illiterate Climate Change religionists, that includes the unhealthy-looking Bill Gates. What they know about H2O cycle, Oxygen cycle, and Photosynthesis they get from the tabloids. The government scientists are no better, they just publish climate change scare papers. Such plans would surely wreck the entire planet and could cause an ice age in short order.

This climate change garbage is just another Hegelian Dialectic. If the agenda is x. You create a problem that allows for x to be the solution.

new Flash... A good friend got his PhD in environmental sciences and worked with the Japanese team on early detection of Earthquakes.
    Prediction models. Size and location...

They are doing great stuff (he has since passed).

His key point was... As we reduce the SUN hitting the earth, the mantle becomes more brittle, and we will get more and more severe earthquakes.

Let's assume he was as intelligent and thoughtful as I remember him being. (He also said, use satellite temps, because less monkeying around, and more consistent, better math, better averages)...

Anyways, it means this will not only fail. This could jeopardize our planet by leading to massive earthquakes.

Meanwhile. Spot on Rainman... If it's NOT the sun, then please explain this plan?

CO2 was 5x higher in the past.. During Ice Ages. It's not the CO2 stupid.

Also, as the Oceans warm, they release more CO2, as the cool, they absorb more. Almost like the planet has a pattern of providing plant fuel when the sun comes out...

But no way... Man is much smarter.
    This is all about control!

Interesting. I speculated in 2012, in my book Shadows Live Under Seashells, that mankind would terraform Mars.Part of that equation was to redirect the suns energy to Mars using orbital mirrors placed near and around Mars directing the suns energy to the planet surface, adding warmth to facilitate plant growth and add additional power.

I recall reading China intends a manned visit Mars in 2033.

What if this proposal to redirect the suns energy is part of the groundwork to provide energy to the chinese explorers while warming the red planet a bit in preparation for eventual transformation? This redirecting has to send that energy somewhere, no? b-merica is china's bitch, no?

Redirecting the suns energy is not the only thing needed to terrform Mars but it is something that would need to be addressed if teraforming were ever to be attempted.

I've seen previous articles about this being studied in other countries (South America?). I think it's worth a look, since "greenhouse gas reduction" is going nowhere as long as China keeps building coal plants. Also, this could be a targeted approach. Cool western Canada to slow wildfires? Cool Phoenix and west Texas?

You can't cool one section without affecting everything else. It's impossible according to the laws of thermodynamics.

The question would be whether the effect on "everything else" was beneficial or detrimental. Small scale trials, increasing in scope until the desired effect is obtained, (if ever) would be a logical way to try this approach.

What you're talking about is terraforming. We already have a great, life-sustaining planet. And the "problem" is invented: Earth's temperatures are just fine. But you don't go messing with something that is fine the way it is when the consequences could include destroying the only current place we have to live. That's NOT science - it's self-destruction.

You assume the alternative is to leave everything as-is. That's obviously not going to happen. I see the alternative as being trapped in a "15-minute city" because the only cars available are too expensive to afford, and being forced to rely on the government for everything because all the alternatives have been stripped away.

Compared to that, spraying some reflective particles in the air is a walk in the park. China spews tons of particles in the air every day. Is that not "terraforming"?

BTW, I am a climate skeptic. I don't believe all the doom and gloom forecasts that the UN keeps foisting off on us. But those in charge are going to force SOMETHING on us. I'd like to see it be the least intrusive option.

Of course the alternative is to leave everything as-is.

In order to justify change, one must demonstrate that change is necessary. The entire premise that the earth's climate is changing in a detrimental way to humans is bogus, thereby destroying the premise that such atmospheric manipulation is even necessary - let alone prudent given the fact that we have no idea what the ramifications - either short or long term - are going to be. And given the fact that such actions would be messing with the planet's atmosphere where ALL of us live, it seems beyond foolish to me to mess with it given our profound lack of understanding! ANY intrusion here should be forestalled as potentially suicidal given that fundamental ignorance!

"In order to justify change, one must demonstrate that change is necessary."

Yes, and it should be obvious that, to those in charge, it has already been "demonstrated" to their satisfaction that change is necessary. You may not like it, (I don't) but I recognize the reality of it.

They want change because they want to tinker with things irrespective of the fact they don't understand them. They have allowed their elitism to escalate into a god complex, which is the opposite of sound science.

Real science operates from a point of humility, acknowledging that it is the search for real knowledge - a true understanding of reality. A real scientist understands the need for isolating one's testing from affecting the rest of the world - even unintentionally.

A few examples where scientists abrogated their responsibility to the rest of humanity (and we fortunately survived):
The Oppenheimer project (development of the atomic bomb)
The Bern Supercollider and the search for the Higgs Boson, aka the "god" particle
                  COVID-19
