Just another great American professional actor: remembering the near 5-decade career of Douglas Fowley, notable, like many great actors of the previous century, for distinctive locution

Although Fowley appeared with numerous better-known actors and actresses over his 49-year career starting in 1933, he is probably best remembered for his part as ‘Doc’ John Holliday, along with Hugh O’Brian, in “Life & Legend of Wyatt Earp,” B&W episodic TV western that ran for five seasons starting in the late ‘50s.
i like him in Battle Ground (Battle of the Budge movie)
i've seen him in other movies, shows
I decided to post this after coming across a performance of Fowley's in "Scared to Death," starring Bela Lugosi--another actor famed for a specific locution. I found a DVD of "Scared to Death" at a bargain sale at a local pawn shop, and bought it not aware that Fowley would appear in it. Actually, the movie didn't have a lot going for it--but one of the bright spots was Fowley playing a newspaper reporter who brings his girlfriend to the site of a likely crime in progress, thinking he'll get a "scoop."
BTW, I'll be on the lookout for "Battle Ground" at the next pawn shop sale.
right now, we watch Perry Mason on FETV
its better than the new crap TV shows
i know they are actors, paid to fool us as to who they are pretending to be
but the old shows have a certain respect for we the viewers lacking today
almost all the old time actors liked the United States
