Between watching tv and hearing the stories from my son about what's going on at his high school I've seen a clear pattern. There's an increase on black-on-white violence. Like Dagny said, "When I see something, I see it." It makes me think back on when I was a kid and we'd go to the east bay to see an Oakland As game and these kids would continuously try to start fights with us. I came to realize later that these poor dummies were raised to behave like this. Racism really comes from home and poor parenting. Now, I'm seeing much of the same thing. My son has seen his friends subjected to robbery, threats and physical assaults in school and the perps aren't sent home. Not punished. It's very disappointing. Just last night we saw on the news where a "youth" at a high school back east attacked another student in the hall with a knife. These types of thugs have gotten so brazen, acting so sure that there'll be no consequences.

When I was a kid I'd fight. A lot. I remember the rare incidences when I'd stand up to somebody of color and the shock on their faces. They actually thought I'd be an easy target and would always stop as soon as I wasn't. It's sad, because this kind of thing seems like something America is just too stupid to get over after all these decades I've been alive. We, as a nation, just decide to stay mired in this bullshit...
