Atlas Shrugged my thoughts.
I thought it was wordy which left little to act out. That and the reintroduction of the new characters kept me thinking that I wish they stuck with the same characters. I know, I know, I have been okay with the changes this far because it didn't take a 3-5 intro for each character in the second movie. It did seem a little preachy, but I am thinking about it now and the last 3rd of the book is preachy. I think it might be better to watch in a marathon instead of alone. The two people that I had with me that had never read the book thought it was great and loved the speeches because it said everything they see in the world around us. I felt like every conversation was a philosophy lecture and I felt some of the action at the end might have been cut out of the movie. I thought it was okay, I am going to see it again tomorrow and I may have a better appreciation for it tomorrow. I say it was okay. But really bummed me out was that I didn't see my name in the credits. I will be on the lookout for it tomorrow. If I don't see it then, I will be sure to talk to Scott and have him send me a screenshot of it or something.
I believe that stories like that are what make this trilogy a success story. I could nitpick a scene here or acting there, but at the end of the movie were people that have never heard of Ayn Rand and watched it with an open mind inspired enough to go and read the book or explore the ideas more over coffee. Does the movie change the conversation for them? I say it does and that is what I hoped it would do.
Not all Kickstarter contributor names would appear in the credits. Only those who contributed $1000+.
