I chose to share this not for its content but the picture.

It is plain to see Xi Jinping does not see this as a photo op. More, he is clearly not in concert with what the jackass contends simply based on his posture, body position and expression. In fact, its obvious that Xi could give two shits what biden says and China will, with biden in office, do exactly what they wish.

Why should the US pay obeisance to a totalitarian state?! If this nation's government has recognized Red China as having a right to rule over Taiwan, that recognition should be withdrawn. And don't tell me it can't be. Didn't the US previously have a stance in favor of recognizing Taiwan rather than mainland China,
    and wasn't THAT reversed?!

The existing Taiwan agreement does not recognize China's right to enforce Taiwan's inclusion by use of force, so it will be interesting to see how things proceed. Australia thinks Xi will step up the pressure and military incursions in an effort to influence Taiwanese voters to elect a more compliant government in the 2024 elections.

What is at risk is an incursion that goes too far and results in an exchange of fire resulting in casualties. Keeping that from becoming a major regional conflict will be the challenge, as Xi's patience is wearing thin. China may be tempted to proceed with invading Taiwan, which would draw a response from Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia, as none want an imperial China lashing out at will without resistance. That should draw a US response in support of Taiwan, which will likely bring along Australia and the UK.

Looming over all of this is the danger of China's nuclear arsenal at the hands of Xi, who seems to be thinking like an emperor instead of a head of state. We live in interesting times, to quote the old Chinese curse.

Xi knew perfectly well that Biden was an incompetent buffoon before he contributed funds to get Biden elected and put Hunter on his payroll. We're hosed.

Can't say I'm enthusiastic about being dragged into a war with PRC over Taiwan, but, with Biden as a sorry excuse for POTUS, that's what could easily happen.

Biden's red lines are likely to be seen by all world leaders as scarcely worth a fart--and that's what could corner a political rat like Biden into a nuclear reaction. Trump's red lines were probably scary to the same world leaders, but at least they were clearly drawn when they were drawn.
