Maybe I'm not as smart as I once thought I was

I don’t understand. I’m missing something, and I just don’t know how to see it. It might be as obvious as the proverbial elephant in the room, or it might be something so subtly nuanced that I wouldn’t find it if you gave me a road map and a flashlight.

How does the Wicked Witch of the West not only get elected, but re-elected maybe fifteen times, and named Speaker twice? How does Mad Maxine get elected, then re-elected a dozen times or more? How does an absolute idiot like Cori Bush get elected? What magic does a crusty socialist (who brags about honeymooning in Cuba) have that lets him continually get re-elected, spending over three decades in Congress? Just how in the world does a sub-cretin like Lori Lightfoot get elected? How in the hell does a socialist and former bartender in New York not only get elected, but also re-elected?

Just what is wrong with people? What the hell has happened--no, make that is happening--to this country?

No...this is a great question. How does this happen? I do not believe that votes are properly counted, for starters. I also know that the average American votes heavily toward name recognition. There are a lot of woefully underinformed voters. I think that pretty much explains it (at least in my mind).

I haven't voted since Bush W's first term. I stopped. For me...I saw the war effort in Iraq as a horrible farce, a travesty. I said, "If he doesn't have us out by the end of his first term I'm not voting for him." I actually DID got to the polls for that second term and, chuckling while I did it, voted for Al Sharpton for President. Saw his name on the ballot and thought, "Well, if this is all a big joke I might as well form my own punchline." Haven't been back to vote since. I will consider voting once I can vote outside of California. In California they even keep track of the voters and donors who do not support the leftist efforts and actually dox them. Pretty dangerous stuff...

Perfect. And you named the famous idiots. I’ll bet there are hundreds more.
According to a number of sources Congress has an approval rating of 20-30%. And incumbent reelection rates of about 85-90%.
I can find many things not perfect about term limits…..but I’m willing to give it a try for 20 years-or so.

I've wondered the same thing, rainman0720.

A dumbed down and brainwashed population is a good start, but some of these politicians are so stupid beyond belief I figure it can't always be that simple. Then again...

The 2 major parties control all the candidates. No one they can't control is allowed. The major parties control the counting of votes. Simple. It's a complete scam. Your vote doesn't count unless you are in the government con gang. You aren't a member. You're a slave. Voting exists to keep you believing you have a choice, but you don't.
Unless you and millions of others have the courage to load your firearms and use them, you will be a slave.

    “...what is wrong with people”?

You have make the assumption that ordinary people voted in the cretins. I contend that something is seriously wrong mentally with the voters who keep electing these cretins. I propose that all the meds ( supposed antipsychotic) is creating more and more cretins who keep voting for the cretins.
I think we are witnessing the drugging down of America.
