My YELP posting about a visit to Bookman's today (a local used book and media store)
I've been frequenting Booksman's on 19th avenue for many years, more than a decade. I went to Bookman's today because I wanted to pickup two books and I have $30 credit at the store. Over the years I found them to have things most places did and offer options (bindings, illustration, etc.) that many places do not. Did they have the books I was after? No clue.
When I arrived I was met with 5-6 couples dutifully wearing compliance muzzles waiting on line to get in the store. Sitting in the entryway was a muzzle wearing employee with a box of masks, hand sanitizer and, I think, a temperature reader. I mention to my son that I don't have time for this sh*t and was chided by some dope with a muzzle saying "that's your choice". Absolutely right. Before I left I reminded the muzzled lemmings that the infection rate is LESS than 1%. I do not fear LESS than 1% of anything and no rational human being should (think about it). But I do fear cowards who are so frighted on 99.x% safety that they would stand outside of a USED bookstore waiting to be sanitized before they can spend their money on second hand goods.
Appalling. Even without an Unconstitutional mask mandate far too many people are wearing masks AND forcing their kids to wear masks. Why?
I'll buy my books online and have them delivered. With a little luck, that I assume will not be coming anytime soon, complicit companies like bookman's will give way to a string of used bookstore where people rationalize and use reason before acting like cowards. You know places that depend on patronage to make a living.
I never was under the impression that Booksman's was anything but left-leaning, but this was the visit put an end to my patronage for good. The $30 credit? I'll give it away or chuck it. Booksman's doesn't deserve an American's money, but that's another discussion.

Edit add: Where I'm at now you can walk around outside without a mask. However, when entering a restaurant, you have to mask up, then as soon as your seated you can remove the mask. When I got up from the table to leave I forgot my mask in my pocket and was reminded by the waiter to mask up. The money was paid at the table and the door was 10 feet away. It's truly nuts! This is the swimming pool analogy where you can pee on one end so make sure you swim on the clean end, LOL!
I've been using it for years,
