Indeed, much of the ills that the collectivist Left have regurgitated onto the body politic over the last few years, particularly racial collectivism, would fall like vampires to garlic to the simple concept of individualism alone. Yet politicians, most tellingly non-Democrat politicians, act as though the word "individualism" is not in their vocabularies. "Freedom" is even more rare.
