Why the Middle Ground Between Left and Right Is so Elusive

I liked this article, even though at the heart of things we internally know this.

There is no middle ground.

I didn't know about the disposition of King Louis the XVI...it brings clarity to understanding the French Revolution and it's important...because I am sure our left of center is in favor of the guillotines TOO!...

Guillotines? It depends on who is giving and who is receiving.
If everyone is innocent until proven guilty in a fair, unbiased trial, the exact execution chosen for treason isn't important unless it is a deterrent for traitors.
There is no middle unless there is rational thought on all sides. No rational thought, no middle ground, no justice.

We all know our country was designed to be politically and philosophically, slightly right of center: Equal Freedom to pursue one's happiness...just enough resistance to keep things from going awry. So there is no compromise position because a little bit more government eliminates that equal freedom for all. Never mind equal outcome, which just creates [In]equality for all.

Agreed, The constitution is the bedrock of this nation. It delares the foundational natural rights of every person, man, woman or child of any race or creed.
There is absolutely nothing to discuss or debate if that commonality cannot be agreed on.
