What a can of coke does to your body in one hour.
Get woke about coke!
An infographic by the British pharmacist Niraj Naik shows the damage that a 330 milliliter (ml) can of Coca-Cola can inflict on the body within 1 hour of consumption. Naik based the infographic on research by health writer Wade Meredith.
According to Naik, the intense sweetness of Coca-Cola resulting from its high sugar content should make a person vomit as soon as it enters the body. However, the phosphoric acid in the beverage dulls the sweetness, enabling people to keep the drink down.
Blood sugar levels increase dramatically within 20 minutes of drinking the cola, explains Naik, causing a burst of insulin. The liver then turns the high amounts of sugar into fat.
Effects similar to heroin
Within 40 minutes, the body has absorbed all of the caffeine from the cola. This caffeine causes the pupils to dilate and the blood pressure to increase. By this point, the Coca-Cola has blocked the adenosine receptors in the brain, preventing drowsiness.
Just 5 minutes later, the production of dopamine has increased. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the pleasure and reward centers of the brain. According to the infographic, the way that Coca-Cola stimulates these centers is comparable to the effects of heroin. It triggers a person’s urge to drink another can.
An hour after drinking the beverage, a sugar crash will begin, causing irritability and drowsiness. The body will have cleared the water from the cola, along with vital nutrients, in the urine.
According to Naik, the infographic applies not only to Coca-Cola but to all caffeinated fizzy drinks.
“Coke is not just high in high fructose corn syrup, but it is also packed with refined salts and caffeine,” writes Naik on his blog, The Renegade Pharmacist.
“Regular consumption of these ingredients in the high quantities you find in Coke and other processed foods and drinks can lead to higher blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. […] However, a small amount now and then won’t do any major harm. The key is moderation!”
In a press statement, a spokesperson for Coca-Cola says that the beverage is “perfectly safe to drink and can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet and lifestyle.”

* Remember that old commercial where they said "Corn syrup your body can't tell the difference?", My response was Diesel or gasoline your car can't tell the difference. They are different chemical compounds, every compound has different reactions, purposes and outcomes.
Every notice they put Fructose in everything they want you to eat more of.
A new study discovered that most of those popular foods (1200 in the last count) have been using a preservative that interferes with the immune system proteins and keeps your immune system weakened and far less likely to be able to defend or react effectively.
Yes, and the reason is different. The reason is that once you remove the fat from food, it basically gets bland and tasteless, so they add sugar to make it not taste like warmed over street cardboard.
The reason we have so much sugar in our foods these days isn't due to any conspiracy of inducing addiction, it is because of the unjustified war on fats (specifically animal fats) by someone who had the ear of the White House and a person with anti-meat axe to grind putting forth shoddy work as proper research and concluding that dietary fat was the risk to mankind when it wasn't.
In society after society the switch to a low-fat high-carb diet shows the very same trends in declining health - right down to the gut level.
In the societies where they've correct the diet to not be high-carb and low fat (moderate fat, moderate protein, low to moderate carb) we see the health level returning to pre-SAD (Standard American Diet) levels for that society.
it wasn't some conspiracy to make you addicted, it was a conspiracy to eliminate meat eating that caused the government to tell you "fat is bad mmkay" which caused food companies to remove the fat and have to substitute it with something else - and the only thing that could be was sugar.
And don't even get me started on soy being in everything ...
It's a simple fact of biology that fructose makes you hungrier
Sugar is sucrose which breaks down to glucose and fructose. Where does the glucose go so that the fructose can turn on the hunger stimuli?

I Always appreciate more science on the subject !!!!
If you drink 1 can of coke a day, you have a 60% chance of being diabetic when you are an adult.
If you drink 2 cans of coke a day, you are 100% going to have diabetes.
A Can is 12 oz. That 24 oz bottled should be labelled as a DIABETIC INDUCING AGENT! One of those a day.
I destroyed my health with that shit. I tried Coke zero. I cannot moderate it. I went from one can, to one bottle.
To a 2L, to 2x 2L, to 6L A DAY within 60 days. It's affect on me, and while it is a form of self-medicating around my ADHD,
is just that strong. I get a lot done. At what cost? My health.
Even toning down to Zevia Sweetened "Cola"... I became insulin resistant while eating an otherwise PURE carnivore (meat/fat only) diet. INSANE.
My last meal was Saturday. I have to fast for 2+ days to get into a level of health that most people can get with 18hrs of fasting.
I spent 30yrs damaging myself with this crap. No idea how harmful it was. How addictive.
How much it triggered me to crave salty foods, because I was PEEING OUT my electrolytes.
And it was jacking up my Blood Pressure as well...
I can 100% control my BP with Diet and time. It just takes about 6-7 days if I stray in any way to get back to normal.
I will probably DIE before I completely heal myself....
That's okay... Because along the way, I will NEVER SPONSOR these companies with my dollars, or my gastric juices again!
Do I miss doritios, and all that TASTY SHIT... Yeah, because it's so dang addicting. BUT NOT ENOUGH to give up how much better I feel EVERY DAY... And certainly not enough to support the WOKE companies who destroy our health...
AND WORSE. Get on the "Healthy Food" Organization and push "Eat Less, Move More".
How about "Eat Better. Live Longer!"
I don't doubt this for one second (well I actually do doubt the "five minutes" part. It simply does not take five minutes). After omitting real chocolate (with sugar) from my diet for years, I took one bite of a sugar-filled chocolate confection and could not BELIEVE what it did to my brain! It was like someone coming up and whacking me with a baseball bat, except that dopamine hit is MUCH, MUCH more pleasurable. When they talk about the addictive properties of sugar, they are not kidding! If someone had told me that and I had not experienced it, I wouldn't have believed them.
On a side note, when my wife was working and her sugar would go low, she'd grab a can of Coke to keep from crashing. (Diabetes 1)
It's like she is sugar resistant and over sensitive to insulin ...she hasn't taken a shot in years.
As a fun side note, my father-in-law just turned 75. He's been Type I since he was 16 and he was told he probably wouldn't live past 35. He's maintained a strict diet and exercise routine for 60 years now and if you didn't see him test his blood, you'd never know. The guy runs 10 miles every day. For his birthday cake, my wife made tiers of vegetable sticks and such: radishes, cucumbers, carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes, in two tiers. The top tier was three containers of nuts (cashews, peanuts, and almonds) and the candles were cheese sticks. My brother-in-law remarked that it was probably the healthiest birthday party he had ever attended. ;)
She has been diabetic since 22 and is now 67. Problem is with type Bs is that most of their stress and stress reduction is done with the brain, (thinking/arguing etc) but just eating is enough to make the sugar count go low...Prob. the body using up it's energy to digest, is my thought here.
Next thing you know the Renegade Pharmacist will be telling us that alcohol is bad for us and that the Covid virus is less harmful than the flu.
