With that said, I'm in the winter of my lifespan and as far as I can tell my grandkids, except one, went left and voted for this crap so they get what the asked for. They don't like it when I tell them so and add I hope what's left of "my" America can last through what's left of my time and then they can fully experience "their" America. I used to try to argue with them but now I smile, tell them "Good Luck", and go silent.
They always tell me that my arguments and analysis of Socialism are creating a “slippery slope” scenario that will not occur. “Things are different this time.” “Democratic Socialism is not the Socialism that I present.”
The Star Trek mantra is their Truth; “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one.”
It is no wonder that so many have taken the “Crazy Diamond” route (Pink Floyd reference for the younger viewer).
"Things are different this time." Yeah, I'm tired of hearing that blather as well.
I am a fan of much of the "Star Trek" franchise, but also question some of the left leaning dialog and innuendo. Not so much in the original series but it gets more prolific as time went on. That particular line is questionable, for sure, when used to support socialism. However it can be applied in an honorable way such as Spock willing to face death to save the lives of everyone on board the Enterprise. The decision was his alone, not some government panel deciding for us. In real life, Medal Of Honor recipients in the military top the list of one risking personal needs for the needs of others.
Are you saying that those individuals are being selfless fodder for what the many desire? When I risk my life it is for very selfish reasons and not for the many who may be helped by my action. I value my family, friends, and country but take a risk for my own individual self. If I didn't, what would it do for my individual consciousness with its values and the integrity fueling my virtues?
Lead, follow, or (in the case of governments) get out of the way.
I am best qualified to decide how to use my own production.
Mmmm the coffee’s good. What’re ya gonna do about it? Nuthin.
The treasonous con-gress did, without any evidence, insist on an investigation by a treasonous, biased investigator that obstructed Trump's goals,
and the same con-gress impeached Trump with no evidence and obstructed Trump's goals which were the will of the People of the United States.
Miss Trump? When have we even grown accustomed to Trump enough to miss him?
What must be done to get justice for the People? I want the first 4 years of Trump without interference so I can actually judge Trump for myself.
I can tell you I'm going to be filing just as soon as I get my W2's...
