Houston and Detroit are two cities that were once dominated by a single industry. When those industries went into decline, the two cities responded very differently with predictable results.

Sadly, our current administration is attempting to turn the entire country into Detroit rather than Houston.

Detroit is not bad right downtown. Outside of that the city is a shambles. They just rejected a very reasonable offer from the state government to help manage the costs of maintenance of Belle Isle. The city council members seem to hate each other and any outsiders. They have largely contributed to the cities undoing.
