I'm very happy to have landed in the Gulch... I first read Anthem in 1969. I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Ayn Rand in Boston in 1975. We talked for about 20 - 30 minutes sharing our similar views. It was a thrill to be able to speak with a person of her profund intellectual depth. I had already read most of her books by that time, therefore we could easily communicate with each other on the topics of the day that included school busing in Boston. Although I now work in the financial area in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles, meeting her nourished my already existing interest in philosophy. I am grateful I had that wonderful experience. She has clearly influenced my perspective of reality in many beneficial ways throughout my life. I am very pleased that Atlas Shrugged has been brought to theaters, which keeps her message alive and available to new audiences. It is a tribute to her and those who choose to think.
