Deep Thought on George Floyd
So, yet again my wife left the tv on without watching it (she always does that) and I walked by between tasks this morning - and caught a minute of the George Floyd remembrance (ceremony?) on the screen. I noticed they had a mural of George on the back wall, showing him with a halo and wings. Then, I remembered that he was once guilty of robbing a pregnant woman in her home while holding the gun barrel against her swollen tummy, threatening to kill the baby in her.
See...always thinking. Anyway...What am I seeing here? Is this the American mind turning to mush? Was Mr. Floyd reformed, and a gentle giant? That is what I'm hoping. Here's my perspective...As a father, I see this whole story has a nightmare no matter which story it is. After you are in the room when a baby enters this world (I have done it twice) you cannot deny the love and hope that fills that room when it happens. You see a new life, starting fresh. Now, when I see a homeless drug addict, or hear stories like Floyd's I can't help but feel real sadness. Conclusions like this are the ultimate disappointment, really, and indicative of a series of big failures. No matter what kind of person Floyd once was or what he became - nobody should die at the hands of government enforcers like he did. But, that's worthy of a whole other thread... I try to stay away from mainstream media because of this kind of thing. It brings me down and they are stuffing it down the addled public's throat - and they seem to gobble it up. Strange days...

To bad he never got the kind of help that could have transformed his life.
To bad he died that way.
To bad, the family, the media nor the government is telling the truth of it.
To bad, it could have been, a wake up moment, instead of a hand over the eyes, the ears and the mind.
Excuse me while I pull out the tongue stuck in me dino cheek.
By the way, when I caught first sight of the halo and the angel wings added to Saint Floyd's image, I changed the channel. I was trying to eat my lunch at the time.
SO BLAME THE PEOPLE THAT DID THE DEED.
America is NOT filled with racist whites who judge people by skin color.
America is NOT filled with non-whites who are being denied their rights.
America's newsrooms ARE filled with people who want Americans to hate each other and to ignore the corrupt people who are manipulating government, education, and the media.
If police departments are to be changed, then start by eliminating asset forfeiture bonuses.
When directed to the police car, Floyd said he was claustrophobic, this after being removed from the driver's seat of a car. He passively resisted being directed to the police car, he actively resisted being put in the police car.
The autopsy showed he was drunk, had high doses of legal and illegal pain killers and meth, and tested positive for coronavirus. No life-threatening injuries were identified.
The autopsy is on the net (sorry lost the ref.).
“no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation”
Cause of death- heart failure.
Juiced up thugs can require a lot of restraining. Even a stun gun doesn’t work very well on someone with enough drugs in their system, especially meth. So needed two or more police to restrain, so the choke hold.

Comments are good, many commentators should be on the Gulch.
Add to the conspiracy theories all the people I've heard point out that this happened right after Joe Biden's "you ain't black!" gaffe. This is all so strange!
And now this. You can't tell me this isn't some sort of provocateur effort from somebody behind the scenes...https://http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/l...
As for the link you give to the so called counter protesters has me shaking my head in disbelief as to how stupid and callous some people actually are. Exactly what were these idiots trying to accomplish? This act qualifies for the reprehensible-use-of-First-Amendment category.
