I'm very happy to have landed in the Gulch. After teaching Economics and Finance for 15 years, I retired from higher 'education', when the braying from the Postmodernism kennels across campus became more than I could bear. Because I have a PhD in Finance, I have options in the real world. Now, I am an expert witness on cryptocurrency, qualified in state, federal, and US Army courts.

In my spare time, I am drafting an educational manifesto that explains the rationale behind the Objectivist curriculum that I am developing for a school that my wife and I want to start for pupils who age out of Montessori schools.

I began reading Ayn Rand's fiction and nonfiction in high school, lo those many decades ago.

Hey welcome. My kiddo is in Montessori so that's interesting.

The plan is to start in South Florida, which is 2/3rds Democrat, see how things pan out, and only later look into expansion elsewhere.

That said, I disagree with Ayn Rand's position on intellectual property, and am glad to share my homework with anyone who wants to 'steal' my idea.

    Welcome to the gulch Pecuniology
Sad that the” Braying of postmodernism kennels became more that you could bear”. This is the result. The students lose a rational objective teacher of finance. Numbers facts and results are not subjective.

      Thank you.

That was my thought as I walked out the door for the last time: my departure meant leaving a higher concentration of the other kind behind. Although Ayn Rand called on young people not to abandon the Humanities to the enemies of reason, I have a family to feed, and I am unwilling to take one for the team. That I have chosen to argue with lawyers while under oath for a living, rather than put up the nonsense, is a sad measure of how bad things have become. The enemies of reason have infiltrated Medicine, and they are making headway into Engineering and basic science.

On the bright side, this has pushed me closer to starting a school, where I can teach young people The Man's secret handshake. Rather than try to 'reform' schooling—it hardly qualifies as education anymore—I'm angling to profit from providing some few an intellectual and philosophical lifeboat.
