Regulation Against “Hate Speech” and “Fake News” Is a Leftist Ploy

Impeded by the redoubtable First Amendment in the U.S., the Left has found new devices to block well-reasoned and scientific opinions that oppose its orthodoxy. The devices have been deployed in legislation and regulation internationally, and across U.S. campuses.

Unfortunately, this is no different from the 3 or 4 people that were supposedly going to kill a bunch of people this week. They were arrested for being accused of possibly going to kill people and they had guns and body armor. When did it become a crime, to not hurt anyone. We are on a very slippery slope.

We have now edged deeply into the "Anthem" concept, there is no I only we. WE must follow the rule and if I diverge I will be punished. One country one court at a time. One look at the UNESCO Constitution say enough.

Great piece. Even the terms "hate speech" and "hate crimes" are totally subjective. I think they can also be considered floating concepts, which is perfectly aligned with leftist ideology.

So if you write or speak against a person for “who they are” that’s now hate speech. But if you write or speak against a person for what they believe in or what they do, that can also be considered hate speech because of “who they are.”
That will teach us not to write or speak, or think.

Funny that UNESCO wants to protect against "fake news" but has yet to censor a single article from the Leftist New York Times despite the fact that their editorial bias was exposed last week with direct quotes from their editorial meeting...

While we’re at it, consider the crime of “depriving an individual of his or her Civil Rights”. Before “hate crimes” this was the tool of the left to get someone they couldn’t convict of an actual crime. I can recall this pretext used many times to go after someone found not guilty of a charged crime or where there was not sufficient evidence to charge an individual. It was done mostly by the Feds, and often where they had no real jurisdiction.

    Of course it is.

Who decides what is a hate crime?

For the left everything the right stands for is of "hate". That is the reason there is no dialogue between the two.

This follows from the left's projection of characterizing the right in a despicable light for things that the left is engaged in. It is a vicious circle that if you engage in, can't come out as a winner.

It is one of the methods the left is perfecting in its insatiable drive for power.
