An Open Letter to the People of Galt’s Gulch
Posted by mminnick 5 years, 7 months ago to Ask the Gulch
I have been a member of Galt’s Gulch for 5years 5months. During that time, I have enjoyed my interludes of posting and commenting. It has been brought to my attention by some (the Posting Police I assume) that I post too much of the “banal and insignificant or rubbish” and should stop doing so. This is their privilege and right to make those comments.
I post in sporadic increments. I will go for months and post nothing and then I will post those things I read and find interesting. These posts to the Gulch are done thinking they may possibly be of some interest to others who may not have seen them. Apparently, this offends some of you. Again, it is your right to be offended. I would never say you should not comment on the perceived problem. By all means post your opinions and let it be known by all. That’s fair.
I enjoy posting and reading the comments. As far as I know this harms no one. I also assume that if there was a space issue, I would be contacted by the Sys Admin and requested to limit my posting. This has not happened. If you don’t like my posts, don’t read them. No one is forcing you to read or comment on them. Apparently some feel they must do so. Not sure why, but they do. There are people whose posts I always read. There are others whose post I never read. I assume both sets of people are in general nice decent people but one I like their posts and comments the pother I don’t. I generally pick and choose what I read. I realize some of you don’t think that is true, but it is. As I said before, I think about what I post. I post what I think would be of interest to people in the Gulch if they haven’t had the time to read the various news outlets or newspapers etc.
If I have offended anyone by my posts, I do offer my apologies. No offense was intended. I deference to those of you I respect and inspite of those of you I don’t I am adopting the following position on posting:
1. Very very limited number of original posts,
2. Increased Number of comments,
3. Occasional (rare) comments to Ask the Gulch for their thoughts of the Posting Police and its policies

What we have all tried to do is post lesser know articles, true surprises in these investigations and political post modern cultural marxist rhetoric.
We like it when we can compare what is going on to what AR and many others warned us about but sometimes, we run into something out of the norm, away from politics and involving other academics and sciences.
We all need to be integrated at least to a degree and we all should be abreast to what is going on a daily basis as well.
I myself have tried to inject some weekly humor so as to ease our frustrations and laugh at the idiots that seek to control our emotions.
We Laugh in their faces...
Thanks!
Who exactly was it that said this to you?
I am more interested in the original thoughts of forum members than news/opinion articles but sometimes very interesting discussions result from a posted item. In the beginning, the focus was on anticipation of the debut of AS I but many interesting characters showed up and discussions were lively and informative. I was surprised at how long the good discussions lasted before some pretty obnoxious people became overbearing, driving some good people away and finally being driven out themselves.
I fear that the trend to posting mostly outside articles is due to the attacks when people posted their personal thoughts. This is not productive and will kill this group.
On top of that, if you think that news item is important, relates to a central theme of the Gulch, or just may be amusing, tell us why.
Then your effort will be probably be more rewarding to you, and certainly appreciated by readers.
Don’t back away from serving your own ethical self interest. Peace to Q.
