Pentagon finally admits it investigates UFOs

"In a statement provided exclusively to The Post, a Department of Defense spokesman said a secret government initiative called the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program “did pursue research and investigation into unidentified aerial phenomena.” "

"And while the DOD says it shut down the AATIP in 2012, spokesman Christopher Sherwood acknowledged that the department still investigates claimed sightings of alien spacecraft."
" “The Department of Defense is always concerned about maintaining positive identification of all aircraft in our operating environment, as well as identifying any foreign capability that may be a threat to the homeland,” Sherwood said.
“The department will continue to investigate, through normal procedures, reports of unidentified aircraft encountered by US military aviators in order to ensure defense of the homeland and protection against strategic surprise by our nation’s adversaries.” "

Now tell us something that wasn't known by most people. There was just too much anecdotal info out there to believe the government wasn't investigating.

To me this is non-information. My first reaction was "duh" The Pentagon has a budget to support!

I found it interesting in that for decades the USAF put out the dumbest explanations for UFOs and for their non-investigations into them. They were actually investigating and still but out really dumb explanations.(No real surprise there) .

UFO stands for Unidentified Flying Object. I thought it went without saying if there's an object flying around that the air force cannot identify, they would investigate it and try to identify it. If they're able to identify it, it ceases being a UFO.

I joke with my wife about the denial of the existence of UFO's. I tell her the government can flatly deny them because they know what they are and have known since the late 40's.
