Government Protects Private Property?

Interesting article. Here is a quote from it: "The government itself is the original holder of the 'right of eminent domain,' and the fact that the government can despoil any property holder at will is evidence that, in current society, the right to private property is only flimsily established. Certainly no one can say that the inviolability of private property is protected by the government." I especially love the image. Can we really say we "own" our homes and land? With the potential for seizure for the so-called greater good, or for unpaid taxes (county, state or federal). it sure looks to me like everyone is just renting. from the true landlord and owner: government.
