OMG that is a great article, I have tried to explain this to so many people, and this really helps. Nobody realizes that the forces coming together to screw up healthcare have been going on for so long and of course it came from government intervention in the markets.

According to a friend in the industry the Hill-Burton Act (1946) caused transfer of much control to the feds, and addicted local facilities to government money.

It will take just as many years to undo the damage that has been done. But first we will need an administration and congress that understands the "This might have consequences long after I'm dead, so I should really think about that" mentality.
