According to a shocking Fox News poll that just came out, the percentage of Americans that want the government to leave them alone is going up, and the percentage of Americans that want the government to lend them a hand is going down…

The 34 percent saying “lend me a hand” is down from 41 percent last year and 39 percent in 2016. The 55 percentwho would tell the government “leave me alone” is up from 51 percent in 2018 and 54 percent in 2016. ....

The survey also found that the percentage of Americans that have a positive view of capitalism is more than twice as high as the percentage of Americans that have a positive view of socialism…

Fifty-seven percent of voters have a positive opinion of capitalism. That’s more than twice the number who feel the same about socialism (25 percent). Some of the groups most likely to have a favorable view of socialism include self-identified liberals (50 percent), Clinton voters (43 percent), and those under age 30 (36 percent).

Nice Post, Kittyhawk. I always wonder why people immigrated to America if they are so bent on changing it! I believe the fact that we are a Republic and not a Democracy has been lost in all these dumb definitions.

I think that conservatives should NOT try and make AOC and her idiotic idea look bad. She is being allowed by the democrats to propose the really outlandish socialist ideas for the purpose of softening up the populace to accept watered down versions of those ideas that will be proposed by the likes of O'Rourke and Biden in 2020. Fox is WRONG to fight the outlandish ideas, and should instead just let AOC go wild and let the dems get behind her so they all look stupid. The more radical the version of socialism thats presented, the better for us.

I don't think anyone has to even "try" to make AOC look like an idiot. She's doing fine all by herself. ;)

but the msm is helping the dems by reporting on how stupid she is. If that narrative is effective in convincing the dems to steer away from radical socialism, it only helps them to get elected and then sneak in socialism once in power. I dont want to help the left at all, and I think even FOX is helping it.

Eh. Most of the reporting I've seen isn't calling her out for her stupidity, they're giving her a soft pass. Her interview with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes was hardly "hardball". It might be naivete on my part, but I'd like to think that a majority of Americans still have some semblance of grey matter between their ears...

I just dont want to help the democrats. I want them to fall in line with extreme socialism and then lose the election in 2020

I haven't seen too many of the proposed 2020 hopefuls denouncing the Green New Deal. Most are racing to see who can be the most extreme. And now Bernie just joined the mix - and we already knew he was an admitted socialist whack job.

I hope the "leave me a alone" trend continues during the next recession or national emergency.

The survey found young people being more receptive to socialism, but I think it's always been true that facile answers appeal to the young. I actually think the millennials will grow to be more distrustful of gov't b/c they grew up in a world that never had central authorities as gatekeepers. Everyone has always had a printing press for them. The encyclopedia has always been pubicly editable. I hope this will make them more skeptical of central planning in general.

They get their first paycheck that they have been dreaming about, doing the math, forty hours x $ rate. Then they get the paycheck and they see how much is stolen by the gubmint. A glimmer of a free spirit which has been quashed thru decades of Public School Indoctrination, raises its weary head. The battle begins.

I think there would be a general revolt if people would actually pay attention to how much their employers have to pay to the government on their behalf that they could be taking home as compensation otherwise... Of course how many people actually look at their paystubs any more and look at those lines that say "FICA," etc.

They think they will be able to maintain their privileged status and wealth even in a communist society.

Don't forget: the elite is just as well off in EVERY communist regime (Russia, China, even Venezuela) as the elite here. That's why they support the left which will let them get away with it.

Hussein mingled in the richest circles and still do. How do you think he amassed a $100 million net worth?

Bingo. It isn't the elites who suffer in a tyrannical society - its everyone else. It stems from the mentality that there is a limited pie and only so much to go around. Capitalists recognize that the pie is as big as we want to make it - with plenty for everyone.
