If it was a gag, it was a cute way to generate interest for his website galt.io... If it was legit (kind of questionable) the way it happened is plausible (it takes not much to patch someone in if they have a studio in front of them - a lot of entertainment folk do because of the various web radio gigs going on)...

I think it was a staged resignation on air to promote his website. Tho were it real, and I were the producer, I think my reaction would have been about the same.

Whatever it was - it was cute - and who knows, it may wake some people up and get them into the theaters on 9-12. I sure hope so!

Well, to my ears this sounds totally fake, a little show. The show's producer coming on after Lewis "leaves the air" does a very bad acting job.
Is it understood by everyone else that it is a gag, am I the only one thinking they are trying to portray it as real?

Totally, even the choice of bump music. Why didn't they just switch to the bump music, something other than "enjoy the silence", unless they're hamming it up?

Honestly that was my reaction as well... couple that with the host covering for him being so reachable, and I am certain it was staged. The on-air diatribe was a perfect setup for his new opportunity.

Staged or real, the arguments he makes as he quits as well those on the promoted web site are not the typical caricatures you hear of Rand's philosophy. The arguments are cogent and apparently heartfelt and do lay a reasonable foundation for going Galt. So, whether this is staged or real, the true benefit is that one more voice has been heard expressing the objectivist philosophy.
I welcome Jason to the rest of us Galts for as long as he chooses to stay.

There is a branch of mathematics which views all transactions as a type of "game". Mostly its about maximizing your profit. It talks about when to cooperate, when to betray, and when sometimes it is just better not to play the game (defect).

Businesses "go-galt" all the time. When they choose not to hire, not to do research, or not to release new products they are choosing not to play.

If you don't like the payoff or the rules, you should shrug. It's in your own best interest!
