Racism and conspiracy thinking are commonly used because they are not precise. Individualism is under attack, and any method is acceptable. Why is fighting back against nihilism not understood? If anything is racist, it is the cynical importation of a feral culture And your comment is the racist one as you imply that these immigrants are by nature feral and nihilistic. The reality is that they are the product of a despotic culture, and if you claim conspiracy then maybe you're a product of the postmodern culture. No conspiracy is needed for millions of indoctrinated people to rationalize what they've been trained to rationalize.
To really understand we have to consider the absolute lack of Patriotism both here and abroad. Young men of military age engaged in a mass exodus from Latin and Islamic countries is a very bad sign of this lack. The leaders and regimes of these countries are to blame and the countries that do accept these immigrants fail to realize these newcomers have no patriotic understanding and certainly no respect for where they left or where they ended up. They will never assimilate.
"In the more general case, all of us should be perspicacious enough to spot official media-endorsed or government-endorsed or establishment-endorsed or corporately-endorsed narratives, and question them. Ask ourselves if we know if they’re true, and if we suspect they may not be, to try to find alternative sources and check their credibility."
My biggest concern about the articles I found on Unz's site is that under the guise of "independent" news I see a lot of antisemitic writings. I'll stick to Drudge and Infowars for my independent sources.
That's what post modernist do...they ignore reality. That is why we Can't have a discussion with them and even a well place bop upside the head will not reboot their brains.
Ron Unz- No. He is correct on - McCain (by accident?), and - that statements from governments, big media and big business are often (deliberately) misleading.
His writing is strong on opinion and low on evidence. For example, his opposition to McCain is not from evidence but from McCain's marriage to a Jewish woman. He writes in proper English but this merit is wiped out by propagating outlandish conspiracies many concerning Jews and Israel. He is full of praise for Nazi apologists and defenders.
Factually, his articles are far more wrong than right. High on intellect but low on sense, Unz compares with Soros and Chomsky but is below them in not (yet) being always wrong.
"The realization that the world is often quite different from what is presented in our leading newspapers and magazines is not an easy conclusion for most educated Americans to accept." Ron Unz
Unz may be wrong in what he implies about McCain. But still, nowadays, you should be careful if you are getting only one side. I remember when I was being taught Virgina history in school (yes, it was taught as a separate subject), I could see the pro-Confeder- ate bias when it came to the Civil War. I am usually pro-police. But that doesn't mean they are always right. I usually read The Richmond Times-Dispatch, but sometimes I look in The Richmond Free Press, too. (But the Free Press comes out only once a week. Still, it's a no-charge paper; I guess that's why it's called "Free Press"). I try to be fair.
