Summer isn't over. You have time for one more book. I would prefer you read one of mine, of course, but this review of a great virtually unknown Romantic novel might steal your away.

I'm a second generation Polish American a have read Sienkiewicz’s Trilogy to familiarize myself with my heritage. The Trilogy is an awesome read in its' self. The tremulous history of Poland is incredible I'm glad I read them.

I read this the same year I read "The Fountainhead" and "Jean Christophe" by Romaine Roland. All at once I was given a glimpse of the heroic life. And not a life dominated by the quest of a carpenter's cup, but of principles of honor and the praising of life.

I suspect you mean you read "Quo Vadis." I probably goofed using that in the title. Readers seeing it assume the review is about "Quo Vadis" when it is actually a review of another book by Sienkiewicz FAR less well known: "The Knights of the Cross." Bit my own tail.

Thank you for your review of the works of Sienkiewicz. I read Quo Vadis over 50 years ago. Interesting how good works keep turning up.

I read "Quo Vadis" when the NBI Book Service recommended it. Really liked it and saw the movie. Read it again some years later. Then, I discovered the rest of Sienkiewicz. I wrote at length about his "Trilogy" on my Facebook page, "Romantic Revolution Books.? I think that also appeared on TAS Web site.
