and the band played on . . . Very good article. It is quite difficult to summarize Atlas Shrugged in a few paragraphs but the writer managed to do it. Unfortunately, much of the public likes "free stuff". The immediate future does not look good for rational argument. It is emotion, emotion, emotion leading us to the great model Venezuela.
I thought so, too....the author really summed up AS very well. There is time for emotion, like when you first see your new born child and things like that. Government is not the place for emotion and never should be.
Good article. Ocasio-Cortez won a local race with a very low turn out and the incumbent didn't campaign. My hope is that it is a fluke. Still can't deny that Obama and his people have lurched the Democratic Party further left. Rand foresaw all of this.
In response to your comment, I would have to add 'shame on the incumbent for not campaigning'. Apparently, the incumbent didn't really want another term. In retrospect, perhaps this is a good time for an Objectivist candidate to run against her and make mincemeat of her platform!
Boy is this weird! My comment AND your response, ( Paraphrasing Lenin, "if we can get them to ...") is not here...vanished!, Gone!...Hmm...somethings afoot!
I have absolutely no clue????????????. I thought at first that I didn't resubmit after editing but then, you would not have be able to read and respond to my comment but what really blows the mind is that your response is missing also.
I know. That's what I thought. Maybe someone in The Gulch knows what happened and can tell us. I don't think that we were censored...our comments weren't over the top.
Not here in the Gulch...no one was attacked! Besides, Admin would of said or posted something.
Had to have been a program glitch...been seeing a lot of that lately with moderate atmospheric charging from the large coronal hole on the sun...but I don't think that was the cause here.
Loved the comment at the bottom by an ignoramus who thought that Rand pushed socialism. At least they were intellectually honest enough to own up to the fact they had never read the book, but apparently they didn't bother to read the article either, since the gist of the book is neatly summarized.
And let's not forget all of the complicit corrupt corporations too. We have many James Taggarts and Orren Boyles and Boards of Directors just like in Atlas Shrugged. Dagney wanted nothing to do with "Jim's Board of Directors". She was old school.
I get that WE all get that it's DUMB to buy into all this free stuff BUT. Sanders won the primary going away but for the Democrat hanky panky and he is an old creepy guy wit zero talent or cahrisma Only 50% of the voters vote and they vote 50-50 ' If a smooth talking candidate comes along and goes with what the Democrats actually want to do, ie free stuff for all and get the rich bastards the mob will rise up and sweep in a new era. It just takes 10% of the stay at home voters and 10 % is low hanging fruit. The education or lack of it has rendered a huge number of young folks very susceptible to this crapp and the Rinos , yes you Bush's have never defended profit or producers but have called for kindlier gentler. As Trumps recently said, " what the hell does tat mean" Lowering taxes is Voodoo economics, illegals come here from love, doing jobs Americans won't do , these are OUR people. Most Republican candidates won't even defend the theory of evolution cause they are terrified of the rollers. Trump is doing his best but he is far from articulate so who will carry the liberty flag ??? Free stuff is very appealing to the mob through the ages and look around at the rest of the planet if you doubt it.
I disagree about him being far from articulate. President Trump is very articulate. This may be the most concise clear speech I have heard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2qIX... #WWG1WGA

Is there a delete ghost here at the Gulch?

Our last 5 posts are still here...(knock on wood)
