China, using history to expand
This is a follow- up to a thread by straightlinelogic of a few years ago.
600 years ago, after a bitter struggle there was a new Emperor.
He wanted to inspire loyalty and acclaim so started a monster project.
This was a fleet of ships, bigger than any previously known, some 125m long with nine masts - see the picture comparing with the Santa Maria of Columbus of about 80 years later.
According to the story, this fleet sailed to Korea, Japan and Vietnam. Then, south to the strait of Malacca then west to Sri Lanka and further west to Africa.
But there is little physical evidence of such a fleet of massive ships.
Now the government of China has started a detailed scientific search.
This article explains why.
